Today we’d like to introduce you to Elizabeth Burrell.
Hi Elizabeth, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing hair and makeup around the age of 18, beginning with special effects work before transitioning into beauty and bridal styling. Over the years, that passion evolved into a full business where I specialize in weddings, photoshoots, boudoir, and newborn sessions.
In my early 20s, I also began bartending and quickly built my way up in the hospitality world. I later became the Culinary Event Manager/Director at Big Green Egg, where I managed events, taught cooking classes, had a YouTube cooking show, created menus and recipes, and curated guest experiences – blending my love for creativity, service, and organization. During that time, I started bartending again on the side, which eventually inspired me to create my own mobile bartending company.
Both sides of my career grew from the same foundation: creating experiences that bring people together. My background in Public Relations from Kennesaw State University gave me strong marketing and communication skills, while years of event management taught me leadership, teamwork, and how to deliver a polished, memorable experience from start to finish.
Today, I’m proud to run Arey Beauty, a hospitality company that brings together beauty, beverage, and event experiences under one brand, combining creativity, service, and connection in everything we do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into a stronger and more resourceful business owner. Balancing multiple roles early on, from freelancing in beauty to managing large-scale culinary events and classes, taught me how to pivot quickly and stay calm under pressure.
Building a business from the ground up, especially in the hospitality industry, comes with its share of late nights, inconsistent schedules, and learning how to trust the right people. I’ve faced moments of burnout, financial uncertainty, and partnerships/people that didn’t align with my values or morals as does everyone – But through all of that, I learned the importance of boundaries, organization, and standing firm in my integrity and my passion.
Those experiences gave me the drive to create something that reflects my standards – professionalism, creativity, and kindness while leading with love. Every setback has pushed me to refine my vision and build Arey Beauty/Bartending into a brand that truly represents quality and care across every detail. The people that work with me are always my number one priority. Without them, this company would be nothing.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Arey Beauty & Bartending, I get to bring together everything I love. creativity, people, and great experiences. I started with hair and makeup, moved into weddings, and eventually added bartending and events because honestly, it all ties together. It’s about creating moments people remember — from getting ready with your girls in the morning to raising a glass later that night.
What makes me proud is seeing how far this has come. What started as me just doing what I love has turned into a full hospitality company built on teamwork and care. I don’t see the people I work with as “staff” even though they’re technically contractors, they’re family. I always put their needs first because without them, none of this would exist. They make every event what it is.
What sets me apart is that I actually care – about my clients, my team, the details, and the energy behind it all. I’ve got a background in PR, events, and culinary work, so I understand both sides: the creative vision and the behind-the-scenes chaos it takes to pull it off. At the end of the day, my goal is simple, to make people feel amazing, have fun, make people feel seen, beard and feel important – and create something unforgettable.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Honestly, I wouldn’t be where I am without my people. My parents have always been my biggest supporters, they taught me to work hard, stay grounded, and never lose sight of who I am, they taught and cultivated the backbone that gets me through everything on a daily basis. My friends have been there through everything – the late nights, the tough lessons, the moments where I was treated unfairly or disrespected, and they always reminded me of my worth and pushed me to keep going.
I’m also so thankful for every client, friend, and family member who has shared my business, sent referrals, or just believed in me from day one. My community is tight-knit, loyal, and full of love – they genuinely want to see me succeed, and they show it. That kind of support means everything, especially as a small business owner.
It’s because of them that Arey Beauty & Bartending has grown into what it is. Every person who’s rooted for me, booked me, or told a friend about me.. they’ve played a part in helping me build this dream.
