Today we’d like to introduce you to Emmanuel Pierre-Louis Jr..
Emmanuel, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am a content creator. The only reason I found this path was because of 2 individuals (that I will forever give credit to): Shianne Jones & Kerry Richardson. Both of them at seperate occasions approached me with the same idea. Shianne specifically said “you need a show! Your personality belongs in the spotlight.” Kerry, told me that I need to be on YouTube. My response was the same to the both of them: “L.O.L! Sure! ok!” I didn’t take the idea seriously. I use to be a photographer. I had experience being a production assistant. I also had a background in Public Relations. My experience was built on positions from behind the camera. I never thought about being an on-camera talent. I downplayed their idea and shrugged it off.
Then, I learned an important lesson: if you do not act on an idea, it will never escape your mind. Their words basically haunted me…in a good way.
I kept having dreams about how I would put a show together. During the day, I would randonly pull out my notes app just to jot down ideas. I was focused on topics that I wanted to talk about; brands I wanted to promote; the aesthetics; the social media presence and the type of content for each platform.
I worked on this idea for 2 years. If I was going to step into the content creation space, it had to make sense and it had to demonstrate the best I had to offer. I used my money to invest in the equipment; my logo; and the craft. When I thought everything was ready, I had to run the idea to my number one best-friend, my brother: Tyler Almonor. He provided the unfiltered criticism that I needed to improve in areas that were lacking! In the same breath, Tyler encouraged me! He motivated me! He was excited that I was pursuing this. He provided the “I can do this” sentiment. It is what I needed to go forth with the idea.
After a 2 year planning process, February 2022: Manny’s Millennial Mouth was Launched! Three years later,
YouTube: 8k Subscribers (and launched a 2nd channel)
Instagram: 11.7k Followers
Tik-Tok: 3k Followers
I was talking, and the world was listening.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Being in the content creation space will automatically come with roadblocks! I remember when I was on the journey to save money for a new camera to shoot with, (which was priced at $600.00), I received a $300.00 traffic ticket that I had to pay for. That haulted my plans. When I was finally able to purchase the new camera, I had to get a new computer (specifically a MacBook) because I needed a computer that can edit 4k quality videos. So I had to save money again for that because MacBooks are expensive.
When I finally had all the equipment I needed, I started shooting. I quickly learned that this was going to take practice. I sounded robotic, incoherent, and my videos were BORING! I underestimated how much work speaking on camera requires.
Nothing about this process was smooth at all!
It is a humbling experience. It forces me to provide effort. No matter the circumstance, it is important that I put in 110%.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My work is Manny’s Millennial Mouth. I am an internet personality and a content creator.
On YouTube, I discuss topics that I am passionate about: Music, Movies, Culture, Nerd/Comic Books, etc.
The videos are long-form content lasting for a minimum of 15 minutes.
On Instagram, I am one of the authors of Black Culture’s encyclopedia. My instagram account is a media page. The purpose is to combact the negativity that blog pages like TMZ or The Shaderoom spew. Instead of posting about salacious celebrity drama, I post content like: album anniversaries; TV & Movie airdate anniversaries; past award show performances of different artists; fun-facts; IG story battles; positive news; etc.
On Tik-Tok: my content is basically Topics that aren’t worth speaking about for 15 minutes (or more) on YouTube, but I’ll still be invested in talking about it. Tik Tok is my short-form commentary content.
My overall goal is to promote fun, positivity, nostalgic induced content. I’m demonstrating to the world that positivity does sell.
I am proud of the fact that anyone can type Manny’s Millennial Mouth in a Google search bar, and my content will appear. I’ve put out enough material for even Google’s A.i. to explain who I am.
I really made a name for myself, and I’m proud of the type of material I put out.
What sets me apart from others is that I’m not chasing popularity. I don’t discuss things that are trendy. I don’t post about things that are popular. I go at my own pace. For example: Every year, YouTubers & Tik-Tok personalities will discuss the Met Gala. It is one of the biggest annual topics in pop culture. However, while everyone is talking about the Met Gala, I’m talking about why BET canceled Spring Bling. I’m making a video discussing Penny Proud and her past boyfriends. I’m posting about my favorite vocal performances from Mariah Carey. I purposely create my paths to follow to keep ideas fresh and original. That is why my engagement numbers are always on the climb because I am offering something different.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
One of the biggest accomplishments for Manny’s Millennial Mouth: JT of the City Girls, including me in her documentary. Backstory: in March 2024, I did a YouTube video discussing my excitement for JT becoming a solo act. I am a big fan of the City Girls, so discussing this topic was something I genuinely wanted to do. The video only received 200 views, but 1 of those views came from JT (or someone on her team).
In July 2024, JT released a documentary of behind the scenes footage as she was preparing to release her debut project: “City Cinderella”
In the documentary, she featured 2 clips of my video. It’s literally me talking about JT in a positive light. My face & my voice is in her documentary.
The reason why I am so proud of that moment: my positive based content was noticed and it was used. Instead of going viral for slandering someone’s art, I showed love. And in the end, the love was reciprocated. I remember sharing the news with my other best-friend, my brother Royal. He said to me verbatim: “If you keep going, you’re bound to get seen by even bigger people on a larger scale.” His words, like always, boosted my confidence; Roy’s words was a stamp of approval that I’m doing something right!
This whole moment is just another example of my overall goal: Positivity sells!
