Life & Work with Furcoat of Atlanta, Ga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Furcoat.

Hi Furcoat, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised in Memphis, Tn in particular living back & forth between East and South Memphis. The first song I can remember hearing was when I was about 5, it was Aaliyah ‘Rock the Boat’. So I was immediately inspired by my mother bringing that story up later around the age of 15. The final thing that made me want to do music was Soulja Boy blowing up musically. I wanted to be that young kid with success. So that is when I began taking music seriously. After HS I went to MTSU college and worked as a manager at a store called “Kroger’ literally hated that job btw! After that interesting but growth building experience, I decided strictly to focus on music entertainment. So I packed my things and moved to Atlanta.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been a smooth ride for me because I followed my purpose. Purpose is stronger than the object if the why is powerful the how get easy. I enjoyed the dumpster fire of my life and turned it into gold.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I change lives with every lyric I speak, rap and sing. I specialize in spectacular vocabulary. I’m most proud of being the World’s Best New Memphis Artist! What sets me apart is that I don’t have a limit.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is having a crush on singer Aaliyah. And enjoying Tupacs music even tho I was born after his passing. And going to the movies with my family.
