Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Jackson.
Hi Gabrielle, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
From Broward County to the Mecca, my journey has always been about more than just a paycheck. It’s about culture, community, and craft. As a first-generation college student at Howard University, I earned my marketing degree while finding my footing in the industry through the 21 Cap program and finding sisterhood in Alpha Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Inc..
My resume spans from stage management and talent relations at Broccoli City to Artist Rights at Live Nation, and touring/booking at 85 South Media. Currently, I’m back in my element as a Day-to-Day Liaison at 11th & Co. I believe in the power of passion-led work and am dedicated to building sustainable opportunities for the creatives and communities that move the culture forward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The journey has had its share of roadblocks. Transitioning from a post-pandemic graduation into a volatile job market required a lot of sacrifice including working multiple jobs and taking entry-level positions that prioritized experience over a living wage. Navigating the unique professional landscape of the entertainment industry while managing the weight of imposter syndrome hasn’t been easy. However, those periods of being overworked and underpaid taught me how to advocate for myself and find my footing in a competitive field.

I am multi-disciplinary entertainment professional. I currently function as a Day-to-Day liaison for 11th & Co., a full service management company. I specialize in coordination, marketing, sponsorships, and booking.
