Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Roseboro.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was raised around my mom and a whole lot of aunts. They all were unique in many different ways but had a few things in common, Makeup and Fashion. I would always watch my mom do her makeup and get dolled up. When I became a certain age and started cheerleading my mom would let me put a little makeup on my face. I was very girly so applying makeup was right up my ally. Since a young girl, I then knew I wanted to become a makeup artist one day. My friends would let me do their makeup for special occasions or just because to practice. I added the lashes once I got out of high school and enhanced my everyday look. I’ve always had a career in the Dental field and I would do my makeup looking flawless while at work working on patients. I got several compliments and my patients would ask me to do their makeup all the time. My mom and aunts noticed the talent I had applying makeup. I then decided to make a business out of what I loved and also at the same time launched my own cosmetics business as well. It was a dream come true and I’ve been great at it ever since. I have been major plans and goals to manifest in only a matter of time! I truly enjoy what I do and making people feel beautiful by enhancing their features.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I want to be the best I can be at all times and I’m so driven to that! Living in Atlanta is very cool but also there is a lot of competition. You’re literally competing with other great artists and it can become hard to build your clients up just because you’re new or don’t have a large following through social media. I think the popularity contest here has to be the hardest struggle because people may not necessarily look at the actual work you do, they want to see who has the better following. That can sometimes still be misleading in my opinion. Other than that I enjoy what I do and the people who know me and the others that don’t but still give me a chance to enhance their beauty even more.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
There are many different ways to apply makeup and each artist will have her go-to look or signature look. My signature look is a natural beat but still glamorous. I may be a little more natural than some other makeup artists and I love that because it helps me to stand out.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My character/personality and who I am is a huge quality that I feel is most important to my success. I am very sweet and down to earth. I want to see everyone happy and win in life! As long as I’m being me and my clients can see that and know it’s genuine then that is the continued key to my success.
