Life & Work with Henry Davies Jr.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Henry Davies Jr.

Henry, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey began in elementary school. My mother always kept me and my brother and sister active in and out of school. Because of this, I was exposed to different things at an early age, which gave me the drive to stand out from my peers. The love for literature began in 4th grade. My mother encouraged me to join the storytelling club, so I went to an interest meeting and never looked back. The art of captivating an audience with just your words intrigued me. I wanted to learn the craft of creating a story, one that would draw someone into your imagination. The thought of being able to go back in time and tell a story as if it was present made me want to master this skill. So from there, I began researching and creating my own tall tales and myths.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Two struggles I faced when writing this book was self-doubt and procrastination. As a writer and creator, these two struggles kept me from releasing material for years. I would go into the studio and write tons of music and stories and create content only for it to sit on the hard drive as I struggled with the notation of rejection and self-doubt. Although I’ve had success with other projects, I have never released an actual book, let alone a children’s book. I wrote “Ewwww Ms. Pink, Your Breath Stinks” in 2018 but because I was struggling with procrastination at the time and decided it wasn’t the right time to release it. It wasn’t until I presented the book to my family that I had the motivation to go forward with releasing it. My kids really pushed me to complete the book after they read it and loved it. I always test my content out on my kids, if they like it then I know it’s gold. I knew that I had to release this book because sitting on it would be selfish. There are potentially millions of kids who will read this book and change their lifestyle of dental hygiene for the better. Never second guess yourself, you have a purpose so go for it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a published author, entrepreneur, educator, youth pastor, musician, actor, model, health coach, and content creator. I wear a lot of hats, but I believe there is no limits to what you can do with your GOD-given gifts. My success comes from utilizing every gift in each area of my companies. I want to conquer every type of business and create a family empire. So far I believe I’m on the right track. When you put your mind to something the only way to successfully succeed in it is to stay consistent. I believe out of all of my accomplishments in my professional life, the one that I am most proud of is releasing my first children’s book “Ewwww Ms. Pink, Your Breath Stinks.” My book is a light-hearted comedy about Jake and his quest to stop the bad smell at school. Jake bites off more than he can chew and now must rescue Ms. Pink and her stink before school starts. “Ewwww Ms. Pink, Your Breath Stinks”, is available now on Amazon.com, lulu.com and other online retail platforms.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is going to Disney World for our annual family vacation. This is a tradition that we continue today with our kids. I want them to experience the magic of creativity I experienced as a child. I’ve always been a fan of Walt Disney and his ability to create a fictional world with characters that become part of your life. I hope to do the same with my stories and creations.
