Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Capri.
Hi Imani, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Imani Capri and I go by the moniker, The # 1 Energy Elevation Coach. I help provide solutions for people, organizations, and companies to transform their relationship with fear, stagnation, and stress into greater levels of courage, healing, resilience, transformation, and elevation.
All of these processes add up to my ultimate passion for helping others to identify and tap into the power of their voices and spirit. I carry out this work in a variety of ways via my business The Courage 2 Change Total Life Empowerment.
Under the umbrella of C2CTLE, I am an international motivational speaker, international best-selling author, creator, and host of the international-award winning radio show and podcast called “Conversations in Courage with Imani Capri” that currently airs on www.wovu.org and the WOVU App on Tuesdays at 11 am EST. As the #1 Energy Elevation Coach I also help clients achieve transformation and healing through energy healing and clearing sessions, as well as guided meditation.
I am a certified Reiki practitioner in both the Usui and Ra Sekhi systems of reiki and I hold a certification in working with the elements for healing and manifestation, from the Atlanta-based Oracle’s Touch company and my mentor Shaman Rah. Dr. Shaman Rah is also a co-host on Conversations in Courage with Imani Capri and I am incredibly grateful for the global listening audience that we are building, which includes residents in and around Atlanta!
I wear a few other service-oriented hats too, as a Central Committee Precinct Person with the Democratic Party of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and as a newly appointed Programming Chair Woman of the Greater Cleveland Association of Black Journalists. Anyone reading this may look and my accomplishments and think: “Wow! She is doing a lot!” and it’s true, I am.
However, all of my accomplishments and the purpose of my business services have been birthed from my own journey and healing and transformation. Life has not always been easy and as the saying goes, ” Thank God, I don’t look like what I have been through”. My life is proof and a testimony to the power of faith, courage, and taking responsibility for personal healing.
No one looks at me and my successes and knows that I am a survivor of almost a decade of childhood sexual abuse, or that I was estranged from each of my biological parents, and both sets of siblings, for 11 and 15 years. or that I endured two legal trials as a young adult to bring my abuser to justice.
These are just a few of the obstacles that I have overcome to completely transform, but these and other challenges helped to birth my courage, healing, wisdom, and passion to serve, empower, and elevate others. My goal was and still is to use my life to teach and demonstrate to and through others how we each use courage as a catalyst to completely shift from being broken to living a lifestyle of breaking through, again, again, and again.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has NOT been a smooth road, but as I have cultivated my inner courage and taken consistent action, my entire life has and continues to change and elevate.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am most proud of keeping the spirit to continue and never giving up. After that, I am most proud of my international award-winning radio show and podcast, “Conversations in Courage with Imani Capri”. It is the #1 power platform celebrating courage, healing, resilience, and transformation. It is also the place where I, and my two co-hosts, Dr. Shaman Rah (Atlanta-based) and Dr. Karim R. Ellis (Cincinnati, Ohio-based), interview interesting people who are doing powerful, positive things with a courageous spirit all around the world.
My show is currently based in Cleveland, Ohio via 95.9 FM WOVUC Cleveland, but is broadcast for anyone globally to tune in on www.wovu.org and the WOVU App. The show currently airs on Tuesdays at 11 am Eastern Standard Time.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for anyone just starting out is never to give up. Take breaks and rest if you must, but never quit. Be coachable and ask for help. Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness! Also, pray to manifest great mentors!
There are no shortcuts to success, other than great mentors! Another gem of wisdom: the results you achieve are a reflection of what you believe about yourself and the quality of relationships that you actually create with yourself in order to serve others in a healthy way.
