Life & Work with Imani Edwards of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Edwards.

Hi Imani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes-it’s been my way of showing love and creativity. For a while, I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with my life. I explored different paths: I started in education, went to esthetician school, and now I’m in nursing school. Through it all, food has remained my passion. I’m a stay-at-home mom of two, a wife, a. woman on mission to build something meaningful. Starting my catering business has been a way to combine purpose and passion-and I’m just getting started. Living life from the kitchen to the classroom, with love in every dish.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road-it’s been a learning experience filled with ups and downs. Starting out, one of the biggest challenges was getting my name out there (still am) and building a consistent client base while balancing everything else I have going on. Being a mom, in school for nursing and an entrepreneur all at once isn’t easy, but my passion for cooking and creating memorable meals keeps me going. Every event, every satisfied customer, and every bit of support makes the hustle worth it. I’m still growing, still earning, and just getting started-but I’m proud of how far I’ve come.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Right now,I’m a full-time stay-at-home mom and nursing student, but I’m also pouring my heart into building my catering business, Mani’s Marvelous Meals. Cooking has always been a passion of mine, and now I’m turning it into a purpose. I specialize in soulful, flavorful meals that bring people together-whether it’s a small gathering, a family celebration, or a casual event. I’m most proud of starting this journey from the ground up, balancing motherhood, school. and business all at once. What sets me apart is th love I put into every dish and my drive to make very experience feel personal and unforgettable. I’m not just serving food-I’m serving moments people will remember.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Honestly, I’ve been trusting my gut and leading with my heart. I talk things through with my husband and my mom-they’re my biggest supporters and help me see things from different angles. I also rely a lot on prayer and asking God for guidance in every step I take. when it comes to networking, staying true to myself and being open to learning from others has made all the difference. Sometimes the right connections come from just being real and sharing your journey.
