Life & Work with James Joffrion

Today we’d like to introduce you to James Joffrion.

James Joffrion

Hi James, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started acting in Houston, TX when I changed my major at Lonestar College from Physical Therapy to Drama/ Theater Arts. Over the years I began to sharpen my craft as I booked indie projects and commercials. When the time was right, I moved to Atlanta to really push my acting career forward. I learned how to network and get in other rooms and talk to stars and up-and-coming talented people. Having a podcast known as the Just Acting Up Show has really helped me in my career.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road at all, haha! I’ve lost my car and been homeless, but I gained it all back within a year. I missed out on some opportunities, but I never held my head low. I kept telling myself God is preparing me for the road ahead and he will take care of me. I kept working and stayed optimistic because I knew things would get better, and I always kept a smile on my face.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am known for being one of the podcast hosts from “The Just Acting Up Show” where we talk about entertainment news and current events. We also have guests join us on our show that’s a part of the entertainment business. We interviewed Kevin Saunders, AKA Kevo The Actor who guest starred in the hit show Atlanta who shared a scene with LaKeith Stanfield and Christine Horn The Booking Magnet who guest starred in BMF Black Family Mafia on our podcast. I am also known for being in the Street Fighter 6 video game commercial alongside Lil Wayne. If you want to see my acting chops, you’ll have to wait until a Western film titled They Call Me Marshal hits the film festival soon, where I play the lead character’s older brother. You can see me make a few more appearances in some indie films that will air soon, like The Masquerade, Berlin 46, Everything I Never Expected, Love By Chance, just to name a few. I’m also working on my zombie apocalypse 3-part mini-series titled “The Beginning of the End,” that will start production next year in 2024. I’m proud of all of these accomplishments because the acting business is extremely hard. What sets me apart from others is my drive to not just help myself but others to learn more about the art of acting and networking.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson is no matter what you’re up against God has you and will provide. There is a lesson learned through victory and failure but your attitude can set the tone for the next course of action. So make sure you choose wisely on how you execute and how you carry yourself.
