Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Gandy.
Jason, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’m Jason Gandy, an ecommerce entrepreneur and online instructor. I’ve always had a passion for building successful online brands and equipping others with the knowledge on how to do the same. I’m known as a top-rated online instructor and founder of Quantum Courses.
Around 2004, I began selling products on eBay, which was my first experience with e-commerce. Online selling was still new, but I could see the potential for this new technology called the internet.
I then began selling products on sites like Amazon, Shopify, and many other online platforms as they emerged.
In 2009, I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a business degree in Information Systems. During college, I had my first experience as a teacher by becoming the President of the Kung Fu Club.
I loved teaching and decided to use the internet to start showing others how to get started with e-commerce.
Around 2017, I launched Quantum Courses, which is a premier online education company that teaches a range of topics, from online business to digital design. I am now a top-rated online instructor on several platforms, currently teaching over 40,000 students in 175+ countries and growing.
The Quantum Courses YouTube channel also features hundreds of free tutorial videos on topics such as ecommerce, marketing and design. So far, my channel has reached over 2 million views with 25,000+ subscribers.
Not only am I proud of my business accomplishments but also the work I’ve done in the community.
I was a Board Member for the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce from 2017-2022. During this time, I was able to participate in many community events, business openings and help make key decisions for the Fayette County community.
In 2017, I was also one of the founding members of Startup Fayette (StartupFayette.org), which is an organization in Fayette County, GA where local entrepreneurs can come to learn, network, and share ideas. Startup Fayette has seen amazing growth and has many successful entrepreneurs that attend our monthly meetings.
In 2018, I became an advisory board member for United Way of Greater Atlanta. We continue to make a huge impact on the Atlanta area, focusing on economic stability, child well-being, and education. We hold food drives and other community events and work with local businesses to impact as many lives as possible in the Atlanta area.
In 2020, I helped start a new volunteer organization in Clayton County called Volunteer Clayton County. We have monthly events to help the community, including food drives and giveaways. We also partner with organizations such as United Way of Greater Atlanta to expand our reach to the community.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building any business is rarely a smooth road. Most successful entrepreneurs fail many times before achieving success. I’ve experienced many setbacks on my journey, from lawsuits to having my courses removed from websites.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to develop multiple income streams. Having only one source of income can be very risky.
For example, there was a website I was hosting all of my online courses with, and they decided to rebrand and take the company in a new direction. All of my courses were removed, and my main source of income went with them.
Luckily I also had my courses listed on other platforms, but this was an eye-opening event. It took a while to build back up, but now I have over seven income streams, so it won’t be as devastating to the business if one goes away.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is to only build one thing at a time. There is a saying that goes, “If you chase two rabbits, you will catch none.”
It’s important to focus on one task at a time until you’ve accomplished it. When trying to tackle multiple things at once, none of them will get your full attention. This can lead to poor quality, wasted time or even burnout.
But by focusing all of your resources to only one mission, you are much more likely to reach that goal.
