Life & Work with Jimesia Shellman of Lithonia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jimesia Shellman.

Hi Jimesia, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my gifting journey in 2017 under a the name Blueprints to Baskets. What began as a creative passion and side project grew steadily as I learned the ins and outs of entrepreneurship, branding, and customer experience. In 2022, I rebranded as The Georgia Gifting Company to better reflect my growth, refined vision, and commitment to delivering elevated, intentional gifting experiences. That evolution allowed me to expand my offerings, strengthen my brand identity, and position the business for continued growth.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like many entrepreneurs, I faced challenges along the way—especially balancing growth, resources, and visibility. When COVID hit, things definitely slowed down and forced me to pause, pivot, and rethink how I wanted to move forward. That season ultimately led to my rebrand in 2022 as The GA Gifting Company, where I came back more focused, intentional, and clear about my vision.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I run The Georgia Gifting Company, a premier gifting service that helps individuals and businesses say “thank you” in a meaningful way. I specialize in custom, one-of-a-kind gift baskets and keepsakes that are thoughtfully designed around the recipient’s personality, style, or occasion. I’m known for adding that personal touch—every gift is intentional, not generic.
What I’m most proud of is building a brand where creativity meets connection. What really sets me apart is that I don’t just create gifts—I create moments. My goal is for someone to look back at a gift from us and remember exactly who it came from and why it mattered. That lasting impression and “wow” factor is what makes my work special.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something surprising about me is that I’m a bit of an overthinker and perfectionist when it comes to my work. I might redo a design several times before I’m completely satisfied. I really want every gift to feel just right—personalized, thoughtful, and memorable for the recipient..
