Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Tye
Hi Joshua, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always been rooted in a mission to deliver excellence and genius level results. My path began in Corporate America, where I quickly climbed the ladder and became an influential leader that led multiple transformations for very large and midsize companies. From there, I took a dual path, falling in love with fashion and then taking my corporate insights to TikTok (@JAY.MALIQ) where I amassed of following of over 130,000 people who are highly engaged and enriched by the tools, techniques, and technology I share which help them to navigate the corporate world.
As a business owner/founder myself I’ve always had a sweet spot for organizations earning their right to brush by understanding what customer experience really, truly means. I’ve spent years helping corporate executives and small business owners to understand that CX is not the same as customer service. This paradigm shift has resulted in multiple corporations increasing their revenue by anywhere from 9 to 10 figures under my leadership. Additionally, I’ve helped several small businesses scale by providing them insight on product/customer rooted techniques that enable them to grow.
In short, I view myself as an enabler of excellence and I’m excited to see all the growth that is to come.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey has been rough, with many defining moments. The path has been made clearer through developing systems that support me in scaling my success in varying areas. Additionally, learning not to undervalue my services to corporations that I consult with was a key lesson. I developed a solutions – based pitch to corporations and only then was I able to overcome strain. Strain is when the price you demand doesn’t match the workload, causing you to be essentially overworked and underpaid.
The key here is striking a balance between pitching a solution, inputs that deliver the solution and telling the story of results you’ve previously achieved.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an Executive in Customer Experience Strategy and Product Management, I’ve held roles with titles from Director, Head of, and Associate Vice President. I also have chaired or been on corporate and non-profit boards.
My specialty is in developing products and experiences that help organizations earn customer driven growth. I’m most proud of creating and owning products and experiences for major corporations and startups that have yielded 9 and 10 figure revenue figures.
What makes me unique/ sets me apart is my ability to be entrepreneurial even in environments where red tape and bureaucracy are the status quo. I can’t wait to use my experience to build and scale a few large corporations of my own!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Luck plays no role – I don’t believe in luck. Every wound and every win has prepared me for such a time as this. I’ve failed and fallen but each time I learn. Failure isn’t final or fatal but an opportunity to pivot quickly.
I truly live by this simple quote:: To win is no more than this, to rise each time you fall.
