Hi Justin , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my music Journey in 2015 in Colorado at Side 3 studios. Being from Georgia, I always knew that I would land back in Atlanta one day to continue my music journey. Now its 2024 and I have moved back and dropping new music every month. Ive had ample amounts of motivation and encouragement in my music. Ive worked with a lot of popular artists such as Lil Donald, Oj Da Juiceman, Project Pat and more. This year i will be dropping my most livest music ever and I want to bring the hip hop community together to listen to what I have to say.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, the road has been very bumpy. Many obstacles arise in the music industry. If you are independent like me, then the money can be a major problem amongst other things. I have had problems with clearing songs that were 100 percent mine and paid for already. Ive had to take down some very popular songs that would put me over a hump because the featuring artist maybe wasn’t cleared to be in the song even though I’ve paid the artist and personally recording the projects with them.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am JMAYZ. I am a hip hop professional and American rapper from Georgia. I am known for my laid back creativity with 4/20 styles as well as madness styles. I really rap about the things that happen in life and how i feel about situations. Telling the world what’s wrong with them is hypocritical but there’s a lot more flaws out there than you can be. So just be yourself.
What matters most to you? Why?
My daughter matters most to me because she is the one person that I am solely responsible for. If we are talking music however then my fans matter most to me. I can always build with my fans with new music and private concerts. I can always get them to share what’s new and what’s been out.
