Life & Work with Justin Patterson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Patterson.

Hi Justin, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I make music now but I started off dancing and wanted to be like Michael Jackson or Chris Brown those were my idols growing up and still is. Then my second goal was basketball that was my favorite sport out of soccer and football, but I made the best of it I loved AAU the traveling but then once I moved from where I was at I got an email from NBA G League, Did My Thing Nobody Believed Me But I Got Proof. Couldn’t Do Basketball Nomore Cause Of Injuries that messed my career up for real. Now I’m in music this is my lifestyle I love it and it’s me I love dancing and listening to my own songs it’s fun and I pray I go for its a lot of people that doubted me growing up, I’m from Yonkers, NY everything was fast and I just didn’t really fit in with the vibes most of the time so it was like damn. But I moved out of NY when I was 15 and moved to Delaware and after that, I moved out to ATL when I was 20 so I have been on a journey with me and my family. I do this for my family, my mom and my sister and also my grandpa and he is not here today with us but he’s here in spirit, and my grandma I love her to death. My other family, I call my 2nd family is always around and I appreciate them most high I love them like my family and you know you are Ms. Adams. But that’s my story I’m also a diabetic chasing my dreams and I’m also inspired by Nick Jonas he also have type 1 diabetes.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Nothing is never smooth but I dealt with a lot of health problems and I thank god I’m alive in well.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a rapper from Yonkers NY residing ATL and I love dancing. I’m most proud of my success because a lot of people don’t like how I do things and people doubted me and laughed like I was nobody and it’s wrong cause I show everybody love but it’s different now I gained the confidence. And I’m different from others cause I come with flaws nobody can imagine I deal with a lot of every day just to get right my life is still damaged from the tragedy that went in back in the day, I been messed up females don’t get me and I get that it’s ok but I will be on my own I come with a lot so I will just be doing my thing and I do it for my family and friends in my circle.

How do you define success?
Being an overcomer at any moment in time, my first ep I dropped two months ago was called “Overcomers” I jumped through so many obstacles I gained a lot and I becoming successful in a great way just gotta keep rolling with it.
