Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamaria Lacey Jones.
Hi Kamaria, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began from a place of quiet survival. After experiencing deep personal loss, identity struggles, and seasons of emotional heaviness, I found myself searching for healing beyond surface-level motivation. While fitness helped me rebuild physically, it was faith that restored me emotionally and spiritually. Through prayer, reflection, and obedience to God’s leading, I began the process of rediscovering who I was beneath the pain.
That journey gave birth to The Be You Series—a faith-rooted platform created to amplify stories of healing, resilience, and becoming. What started as a personal act of obedience grew into a podcast and community where women are encouraged to show up as their authentic selves, honor their healing, and trust God through every season of becoming.
Today, I continue to use storytelling, conversation, and community to remind women that their story matters, their healing is holy, and their becoming is purposeful. The Be You Series is not just a brand—it’s a reflection of what happens when faith meets authenticity and obedience meets calling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not been smooth, but it has been purposeful. One of my greatest challenges was navigating seasons of self-doubt and emotional burnout while building something rooted in authenticity and faith. There were moments when I questioned whether my voice mattered or if my obedience would truly lead to impact—especially when growth felt slow or unseen.
Balancing personal healing while showing up consistently for others was another challenge. I had to learn that rest, boundaries, and trust in God were not weaknesses but necessities. Building The Be You Series required me to unlearn perfectionism, silence fear, and remain faithful even when results didn’t immediately reflect the work being done.
Each obstacle refined my vision and strengthened my resolve. Those challenges became the very foundation of the message I now share—healing is not linear, becoming takes time, and purpose is often formed in the unseen seasons.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the founder and host of The Be You Series, a faith-rooted storytelling platform and podcast created to amplify voices of healing, resilience, and becoming. Through intentional conversations and community, I create space for women to feel seen, heard, and encouraged to walk confidently through every season of life with faith.
As a wife and mother, my work is deeply personal. Navigating marriage, motherhood, and purpose has taught me the importance of pouring into myself without guilt while honoring both my calling and my roles. That lived experience shapes how I lead—with honesty, compassion, and grace.
I specialize in faith-based storytelling and meaningful dialogue that connects personal healing with purpose. I am most proud of building a platform rooted in obedience, not perfection—one that reminds women that their story matters and becoming who God created them to be is a journey worth honoring.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I love most about Atlanta is the sense of community and creativity. Coming from Brooklyn, I appreciate how Atlanta creates space for vision, faith, and growth. It’s a city full of people who aren’t afraid to build something meaningful, amplify voices, and support one another along the way.
What I like least is how fast-paced and crowded it can feel at times—something that reminds me of home in Brooklyn. Still, Atlanta has taught me the importance of slowing down, being intentional, and staying grounded in who God has called me to be.
