Life & Work with Kassandra Davis of Cartersville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kassandra Davis.

Hi Kassandra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved art of any sort so photography was a natural expression for me. I started in family photography but after a friend talked me into doing a boudoir photoshoot when I was getting married in 2009 and I fell in love with it. I grew up very insecure and always felt out of place in my body. That photoshoot was the first time I felt beautiful and sexy in my own skin and I wanted to help other women feel that way. So I dove headfirst into everything boudoir. It started with doing photoshoots on the weekends for anyone who would let me practice with posing and lighting and gradually grew from there. I found a passion in it and it grew every year from then on.

In 2019 my husband received a job offer in South Carolina so I quit my full time job to move all the way across the country. I was planning on continuing to only do photoshoots on the weekends but my husband convinced me to go full time with it. I will always be grateful for that. It took off quicker than I ever expected and I’ve never looked back. In 2024 we moved to Cartersville GA and my photography has continued to grow and expand with every year that passes!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has not always been a smooth road. Between economic up and downs and moving states, there are always paths and challenges we don’t see coming. This is a luxury service so when the economy suffers so does my business but I have always made sure to offer payment plan options as well as a variety of products to make sure anyone who wants a shoot has access to one.

The other obstacle of course is moving. Every time we have gone to a different state I have had to start over not only with the legal and business side of things but also with building a new clientele. I have been very lucky that no matter where I have been located I have been able to build a community of strong women who want to embrace themselves completely.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a boudoir photographer and specialize in portrait sessions.

I would say that what I am known for most is not just the beautiful images I produce but how comfortable I make my clients at their photoshoots. This type of photography is very intimate and that can be intimidating to a lot of women so making sure they are comfortable and leave with a new sense of confidence is very important to me.

I am most proud of all the women I have had the honor of helping. It’s very hard to be a woman in our society with the constant expectations that are put on us. The beauty standards are constantly switching and with the rise of filters, AI and social media it can make a lot of us second guess our beauty. I’ve always wanted to break those expectations and standards to show that all women are beautiful. I’m proud every time I get the chance to show a woman how amazing she really is.

I think what sets me apart from most is that this is not just a business for me. Yes I have a family to support so I do have to make money but I didn’t get into this for the money. I got into it because I want to help women see that they are all bombshells. I have been where my clients are. I have been insecure and struggled to find the beauty in myself and I know how hard it is to break that thought process so not only am I coming into these photoshoots with posing and lighting knowledge but also with compassion and understanding.
