Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylan Anthony.

Hi Kaylan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story starts as a young girl who was groomed to love herself; by an angel God presented in my life. My mother/father’s wife. I grew up being bullied and lacked self-confidence. I went through a lot of abuse to get here. My turn point came after being told I would die at 23 and I knew by then and me becoming a mother; I had some little angels of my own to be here for. They gave me purpose, they gave me love and courage to love who I AM.

So here I am, now shy of 30 years old….re-chasing a dream of inspiring somebody who’s going through what I have. I wrote a short story “Overcoming Obstacles”- A Models Success Story, that kind of entails a bit of my life and how I pushed and still continue. I do have times I fall into a dark place and I am human. But we all need a lift at times and a reminder that WE can get through and push ourselves to excellence.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been easy at all. I definitely needed time for healing. I still find myself in “self-reflection”. I dealt with a lot of insecurities within myself. Not feeling I was enough for people. I tried committing suicide a few times. I’ve contemplated it and only people that knew were my friends. I struggled so hard to accept myself as a skinny, underweight kid. Not looking like anybody in my family and a black sheep. This at times led me not to work, go to school, etc.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Now, I have turned my modeling into a creative task. I create content for models and artists since I am now out of it. I do still dip in from time to time for fun; but I bring promotional content using their materials and my skill to bring something that has a “wow” factor when you see them post it somewhere to help gain traction.

How do you think about luck?
It has played good in my favor. A lot more have reached out to me. I have gained a lot of support from what I do now. Both in modeling and outside of it.
