Hi Keiko, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my YouTube channel after years of encouragement from friends who believed I should go for it. I had always loved watching beauty content, but it wasn’t until they gave me that extra push that I finally took the leap. I began posting beauty videos, and before long I branched out into fashion and lifestyle content — and absolutely loved sharing it with my audience. It felt like sitting down and chatting with a friend about all the things I love!
These days, I’ve pivoted away from YouTube to focus on short-form content across Instagram and TikTok, as well as launching my own beauty courses. I now offer beauty consultations, classes, and other services to help fellow creatives plant and grow their businesses.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
YouTube and social media has definitely not been a smooth journey for me. There’s always been highs and lows, but the highs definitely outweigh the lows. I’ve struggled with finding my voice, comparison, feelings of inadequacy, dealing with hate and harassment, to wanting to quit altogether. Over the years and with each low, God allowed something amazing to happen that propelled me forward. I’m grateful for every low and pivot, as it’s taught me so much about being an entrepreneur, showing up for myself authentically, and perseverance.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I love sharing my beauty expertise from a real, relatable perspective — for real women and men. I pride myself on authenticity — not just following trends or saying what brands want to hear. I also make it a point to share my own beauty imperfections in this outward-focused space. Being a beauty creator who doesn’t fit the traditional standard of beauty is something I embrace. We don’t all have to look the same, and the things that make us different deserve to be celebrated. I hope that when my audience thinks about who I am and what I share, that’s the feeling they walk away with. I love being a not-so-typical beauty creator — and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
What I’m most proud of is the solid community I’ve built. They’ve stuck with me through the highs, the lows, and every pivot along the way. I feel deeply connected to them. As much as I love creating and sharing the best of beauty, I do this for my beauties! They’re the reason I’m still here — and why I keep showing up.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love that Atlanta is a city where creatives can truly thrive! There’s always something to do, something to learn, and incredible people to connect with — it’s a space that really embraces what we love to do. That said, I do wish the beauty creator space was highlighted more here. I’d love to see more influencer events happening in this amazing city! With so many talented creatives in Atlanta, any brand would benefit from tapping into what we have to offer.
