Life & Work with Kenyatta Snipes Sr. of South Side Clayton Co

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kenyatta Snipes Sr.

Hi Kenyatta, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started my career as a Rapper doing open mics at Royal Peacock on Auburn Ave, J Paul’s on Tara Blvd and the Atrium. I use to have my nephew record my performances and do photos and I would edit them. I was more involved with the business side of things so it took away from the creative side of me being an Artist. That turned me into an Entrepreneur/Actor/Cinematographer.

I studied Film at Full Sail University in Orlando Fla, but even before then I’ve had years of hands-on experience, so I decided to get the paperwork to go more in-depth with my craft.

Credits for celebrities I’ve worked on set with:
Actor/ Director/ Studio Owner Chatejah George of C&C Movie Film Studio; Big Jada Cheaves; Columbus Short; David Banner; Benny the Butcher; Hood Baby Films KingJboi; Erica Banks; Migos; 21 Savage; Paper Route Ent; Young Blue; T. Pain; just to name a few.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
People see the success and not the struggle. I’ve had weeks of no sleep and several times of being turned down. I’ve had the word no said to me so many times I almost wanted to give up. Until they get used to seeing your face you’ll be treated like you’re a ghost in the room. When you finally get that yes, you’ll feel like it was well worth it.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an Entrepreneur, but my passion is being an Artist that’s what I’m known for. When I walk into a room, I bring positive energy and a vibe that sets me apart from everyone. I’m more of a motivator! I love pushing people toward their full potential (that’s my superpower.) I’m very versatile with my acting skills. I could play any character role that’s put in front of me.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
The advice I have for anyone starting out is this is not a career that you halfway out your heart into if your not ready put the work in don’t start. You’re only going to get out what you put in.
