Life & Work with Kev Williams of Stockbridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kev Williams.

Hi Kev, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started for me at the tender age of 10. That’s when I realized God blessed me with the gift of singing. I would sing for kids at school and it followed me all the way to adulthood. Throughout my previous career in the military, I have always had the bug for the stage and I was always spending most of my time in the recording studio creating. How I got to where I am today? Well that is an interesting situation. I was invited to an event in Atlanta and that’s where I met Ejene for the time. Someone at the event told her I could sing and she asked me to. I told her “I have a song in my pocket let me know what you think” I performed it and from there we began building a relationship. She allowed me to join her and her team under her umbrella and since then we have created nothing but magic. We have created amazing music that is available on all platforms we have a podcast entitled The Naked Podcast we have an amazing movie entitled What Death Do We Part which will be out at the top of 2022 and my plans are to continue growing as a brand and an entertainer and as a person. I’m currently on tour promoting my current single entitled”Pieces” You can come follow me on social media: IG:: @iamkev_williams and on Facebook @ The Naked Podcast.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it has not been a smooth road. I’ve come across people who lie and try to take advantage of you. Inconsistent people. I mean my mind no situation is that hard. People like to make them hard for no reason. But I will add that the streaming industry has been the toughest obstacle to overcome. While they rake in billions of dollars artist are paid out pennies. Most artists won’t admit but I don’t have a problem letting the cat out the bag. That’s why we have created ejenellc.com to help negate the shortcomings we experience dealing with streaming services. Ejenellc.com is where all my fans can come and support our music and movies as well as our podcast directly.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Well, first and foremost I am a professional singer-songwriter and entertainer. And I showcase that on my current single Pieces that’s from the what death do we part soundtrack. The vocal range demonstrated on that song if I must say so myself is flawless. Nowadays, if you ask a person about their favorite song, they can’t tell you what it’s about. They just like the beat. With my music, although beats are amazing what brings it to life are my words and my voice. What sets me apart from others is take my singing very seriously and I don’t my competition. I feel like competition builds champions. There be no MJ if there was no Prince and vice versa. I am proud that I have not given up on my passion. Even when I tried to give up, I wasn’t able to. A pastor once told me in reference to my music career that the saddest day of my soul’s existence is going to be when I meet God and he introduces me to the person I was supposed to be. And from that day I’ve been busy.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To remain humble. And remain true to who I am. God has blessed me with the greatest team anyone could ask for.
