Life & Work with Keyerra Green of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Keyerra Green.

Hi Keyerra, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my journey in Savannah, Georgia, where I studied biology. I later found a passion for skin, hair and nails. My mom is a licensed cosmetologist so she taught me the basics. I struggled with finding a balance because I didn’t know how cosmetology was gonna correspond with what I had already started. I started doing nails on campus as a side hustle to get through school. Then once I graduated undergrad, I enrolled in aesthetician school. I later moved to North Carolina to finish my clinical hours so I could enroll into a medical institution. Since school was very demanding of my time, I couldn’t really work so I had to start side
Hustles. So I spent a lot of my outside work time being creative and mastering my crafts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a easy road, but I’m grateful because I had a lot of support. One of my biggest struggles was finding balance between my work, endeavors and my personal life. In the beginning, I lost a lot of friends because I didn’t prioritize nurturing friendships. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to, I think at the time of me being an amateur in my field and my journey, I just didn’t know how to divide my focus.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Currently I’m studying in the medical field and I plan to specialize in dermatology. Dermatology stands out to me more because I feel as if I have the best of both worlds. My endeavors are designing clothes for wags and women in sports. Providing quality skin and hair care products as well as writing music.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My family played a huge role, especially my mother and father. I’ve met amazing friends on the way as well.
