Today we’d like to introduce you to KT Archer.
Hi KT, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started in 2004 when usher dropped the hit single yeah. Ludacris verse on that song sparked my brain to the point that even in 4th grade, I wanted to rap that verse to perfection. There was this time my family went to pappadeaux later that year and a man next to my table asked me if I could rap. To his satisfaction, I said yes and rapped the verse I knew by Ludacris for his and saw him vibing and nodding to my imitation of Ludacris. Fast forward seven years, I’m learning everything about hiphop because it was so perfect to me the bar setups from battle raps to songs so I decided to take it serious but I wasn’t ready to actually rap on tracks at the time only had one cover out (Kanye say you will beat) that made over 1,000 views. In 2011 I was known as a freestyling rapper until a friend told me to start writing down the lines cuz they were too dope. Unfortunately, I knew the only thing stopping me was artistry and voice. I didn’t have neither until I met random artist in Atlanta after graduation 2012. It took me until 2018 to find my voice artistry and path and now in 2022, I’ve already been regarded as one of the best due to versatility and overall performances on songs and stages. Developed the twista flows to the Kanye and jay z artistry that inspire my peers and me to keep going because whenever anyone listens to my unreleased songs, they always tell me I’m the breath of fresh air the industry needs and that’s my only goal is to make feel good music like my era specialized in because my idols are all older now and they need me just as much as I needed them.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Yes, it has been difficult because I never imagined that it was more than just perform be the best get noticed. When In reality, it’s get your business and publishing and copyrights learn syncing get your fan base network be a personable individual and grow thick skin cuz a critic could either be a lifesaver for the future or a hater praying on your downfall. So I’m still undergoing these processes more than anything.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in positive music overall but I know that what sets me apart is versatility because even though I always stuck to lyricism, I knew that there was more to music and some people just want to vibe and feel good and not think so I finally found a way to mix the three without sounding like I’m trying instead of doing. The first sound is golden era rapping the second sound is mainstream rapping and the third sound is hype song rapping. I am proud to be Be able to have all three approaches because only the goats have those skills and most can’t do all three only one of the three.
Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Favorite books coming from Harry Potter series the unfortunate events series and Donald’s book everything you need to know about the music business and podcast wise joe Budden and drink champs is goated. Those books and podcasts developed me to get my mind right and stay creative and appreciative.
