Today we’d like to introduce you to Liyah Mehndi.
Hi Liyah, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story really began in Brooklyn, New York, where I was deeply immersed in the pole-dancing community—surrounded every day by performers, creatives, and the nonstop energy of nightlife. Over time, I noticed a real gap in the industry: there were very few durable pole-rental options, and almost no one was focusing on high-quality construction or aesthetics. I wanted to change that. I wanted to create something that delivered a true wow factor—equipment that elevated not just pole dancing, but the entire look and feel of any performance through thoughtful design and solid engineering.
That vision led me to develop our signature octagon-shaped stages with LED bases—fully freestanding, no ceiling attachments needed, and engineered to support some of the highest weight capacities in the industry. These heavy-duty, commercial-grade stages became the foundation of the brand. I put up a post, started renting units, and the demand quickly grew.
As the business expanded, I felt inspired to move to a city where creativity, entertainment, and performance collide on a whole new level. Atlanta isn’t just the epicenter for dance culture—it’s a powerhouse for film, music videos, production, and live entertainment. The need for high-quality, reliable, camera-ready equipment here is constant. Home to legendary strip clubs, iconic performers, and a deep respect for the craft, it felt like the perfect place to take the next step.
So in 2017, I took the leap, relocated, and built what is now Stripper Poles Atlanta — Stripper Pole Allstars.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, the journey has been smooth, and I’m grateful for that. The biggest challenge has really been navigating the seasonal nature of the industry. Rentals can fluctuate throughout the year, so it isn’t always a full-time, steady stream of bookings. Learning how to balance those high-demand periods with the slower seasons—while still maintaining quality, equipment upkeep, and professional service—has been an ongoing lesson.
But overall, the experience has been incredibly rewarding, and each season has taught me something valuable about the business, the community, and how to continue growing intentionally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I wear two hats that I’m equally proud of. Outside of my pole rental company, I’m an IT professional specializing in EDI implementations. I’ve spent years managing and streamlining electronic data exchange systems that help businesses operate more efficiently behind the scenes. It’s a very different world from entertainment and production, but both require precision, problem-solving, and a commitment to reliability, which are skills I bring into every aspect of my work.
When it comes to my pole rental company, I’m proud to provide equipment that not only functions at a professional level but also delivers a visual impact on set, on stage, and on camera. What truly sets us apart is the combination of engineering, aesthetics, and hands-on customer service. Everything we provide is crafted to be safe, sturdy, and show-stopping.
Whether I’m building custom EDI solutions or delivering equipment for a major production, my goal is always the same: deliver exceptional quality, stay dependable, and make the experience seamless for the people counting on me.
What began as a vision has become a nationally recognized accomplishment and apart of entertainment history. Showcased in major films, music videos, and legendary talk shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and premier networks including Netflix, Zeus, and Bravo, our work has also stood on some of the world’s biggest concert stages, including Rolling Loud and countless other landmark events.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memories are the simple, meaningful moments I shared with my parents. I loved our family outings, where we’d spend time together exploring, laughing, and just being present with one another. Some of my sweetest memories are photoshoots with my dad—he had a way of making every moment feel special and creative. With my mom, I adored our baking days and especially the “take your child to work” days. Getting to see her in her element and being part of her world, even just for a day, made me feel inspired and included.
