Life & Work with Lizzie Patrick of Atlanta/North Georgia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lizzie Patrick.

Hi Lizzie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since social media got big, I knew I wanted to be all about it and was meant for the digital space. School was never my jam, but I know going to school in Atlanta would bring me huge opportunities. While I juggled working (practically) full-time at DressUp, I had three internships my senior year of college and earned my degree in Journalism and Public Relations in 2019. After graduating college I quickly landed a social media manager job at a local digital marketing agency but was soon let go due to COVID at the beginning of 2020. Since then, I gained experience through various agency roles and freelance gigs, eventually took the leap to go off on my own and launched Maven Social in the summer of 2024. I’m passionate about creating intentional, scroll-stopping content and building community through engagement. With a strong grasp on the ever-evolving digital landscape, I know how to craft a social media presence that truly connects.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not always a smooth road. From 2019 to 2024, I bounced back and forth between working for myself/freelance gigs and working full-time at agencies. I eventually realized that I was capable of doing everything that I was doing for other agencies myself and decided to create my own agency. Something that helped me realize this was “If you don’t build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build yours.” And what better time to start than now!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I don’t pigeonhold myself into only working with one specific industry, but I do have a love for all things bridal and weddings. I was at an agency back in 2022 that specialized in this industry in particular so I found a love for it, but now that I’m on my own, I don’t only book clients in that industry. Some of my favorite clients I worked with at my old job include wedding dress designers and wedding planners — like Kleinfeld Bridal (Say Yes To The Dress), Allure Bridals, Rita Vinieris to name a few. Now I’m working with companies like Edible Arrangements and more local businesses in the Atlanta area. I continue to get my fill of weddings by offering Wedding Content Creation as a service, where I come and take iPhone coverage of clients’ wedding days.

How do you think about happiness?
It makes me happy when I help bring my client’s vision to life. As a business owner, taking on the role of marketing your business as well as everything else you have to do is extremely overwhelming. I love to take that load off of people, help their business grow and ultimately make their lives easier
