Life & Work with Lucky Duck of Athens

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucky Duck.

Hi Lucky, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Lucky Duck is a captivating jam-fusion band, originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, now based out of Athens, Georgia . Known for their electrifying performances and seamless blending of genres, Lucky Duck delivers a high-energy experience that is not to be missed. Whether you’re a fan of intricate guitar solos, tight drumming, or groovy bass lines, Cartwheels has something for everyone.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The Music Industry is a competitive field, especially in a major east coast city like Atlanta or Athens, so the standards are higher all-around for artists. It can be difficult at times to carve out your own space, but if you stay true to what you do and keep it genuine, then you’ll be just fine.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re a jam band, which means our songs grow and evolve from show to show. In the spirit of bands like The Grateful Dead, Phish, and Goose- we’ll never play anything the exact same way twice, which allows for a sort of hyper-authentic essence surrounding the band.

What matters most to you? Why?
I think at the end of the day we’re all in this to have fun, and we understand that live music is a big source of joy and release for people. Music is really great at bringing people together, and what’s really important to us is creating a space for people to experience that kind of thing.
