Today we’d like to introduce you to Mahiya Stewart.

Hi Mahiya, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Mahiya Stewart, some people call me Mahiya Rose. I am from Memphis, TN. I am a servant of God, wife, mother, author, kingdom influencer and entrepreneur. I struggled with my purpose here on earth until I surrendered my life to God and after I was baptized my life changed for the better. I worked at Hampton Inn Hotel and I heard God tell me to quit, in my head I was in so much doubt and didn’t know how I would pay my bills, but I obeyed. In that moment, I was taught myself how to do graphic designs and actually enjoyed it. Every day I saw God unfold my purpose before my eyes.

As I was doing graphics, I seen my clientele increase. After I embraced my new career journey, I met my amazing husband Dartanin Stewart and we heard God say “Get Married”, and without hesitation we got married! We’ve been happily married for 2 and a half years. Shortly after our ceremony, I heard the God say, “write the book”. I put the book off so many times, but this time I couldn’t because of the mandate on my life to help and inspire others. So guess what, I wrote the book without hesitation. The book is called “iRose From It; I did it, I was it, I conquered it”. I released the book on Amazon and was mind blown on the sales of it. The book has inspired so many women and men and God gets all the Glory. In the midst of so many accomplishments, it was one thing I was seeking more than money…….. A BABY!!!

At the age of 16 years old, doctors diagnosed me with PCOS and said I would never have children ever! I kept my FAITH and knew God would bless my womb. Well……….. God spoke to me and told me I would have a little girl and to name her Miracle! The waiting process never feels good but I held on to the word of the Lord. In a dream, the Lord revealed to me I would take a pregnancy test and it’ll be positive……………guess what? Two weeks later, I WAS PREGNANT. Even though life throws us curve balls God always have a plan for his children. I enjoy being a wife and I enjoy being a mother, Most of all I enjoy serving. My family and I moved to Houston, TX and started a candle business called “Faith Candles” inspiring people through aromatherapy candles. I love ministering and I love serving and I make sure I incorporate that through business as well!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an entrepreneur is a struggle at times because no one sees the sweat, tears, nor frustrations. There are many highs and lows in entrepreneurship that most don’t discuss. As you’re being elevated, you been to see isolation as well. Some people will be happy for your success and some will speak on your downfall. There are times where you don’t get one sale and you have to stand on your FAITH! There are times you will experience overflow and have to remain humble. There are times you will have to endure whatever obstacles that come your way.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Graphic Designer, specializing in branding and marketing. I am proud of who I am today because I literally taught myself how to design all types of graphics. I handle my clients with prayer, pure love, diligence and creative new ways to make their brands stand out.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I was very wise as a child, many would call me an old soul. I always had an interest in helping and praying for people.
