Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla Young
Hi Makayla, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since a very young age I have always enjoyed beauty. I often would watch makeup tutorials & practice on my family members. After I finished Highschool I decided to go to Estheican school where I attended Paul Mitchell The School Esani & absolutely fell in love with the industry! During school I learned how to wax, do facials and back treatments. When I finished school I decided to work at a lash company and took others classes to get more certifications under my belt such as (Brazilian waxing and body contouring)
And then eventually branched off and got my own lash business called Beyondbeautybykay. I came up with this name because this industry is more than just about me making people look good, although I enjoy that part I also love meeting new people and being able to pour into them & uplift them and spread the good gospel of God to my clients as I service them.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship has defintely not been an easy road. Those days where your feeling discouraged and defeated but still have to show up and give it your 100%.
It can get real lonely some days but my faith has kept me strong in this journey. Looking back now I’m grateful for the times that I did fall because it has shaped me into who I am today, every loss I took has taught me something.
I’ve learned to give myself grace & to take it one step at a time because I remember being so scared to take that leap of faith to start my business and to see how far I have came in this journey is what keeps me going.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m an esthetician and I specialize in doing lash extensions. What sets me apart from others is I care about protecting my clients natural lashes so I make sure to thoroughly go through a consultation with my clients and also examine their natural lashes to make sure their natural lashes are capable of the style /length of their desire. I specialize in natural sets because I believe in enhancing your natural beauty and not taking away from your other features.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
To me success is about conquering your goals & being at peace with every area of your life.
