Life & Work with Marcus Donald

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Donald.

Hi Marcus, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I first started off modeling when I did my first photoshoot in 2019 and the idea came in my head that I wanted model and I have been doing photoshoots and I have been part of three fashion shows here in Alabama and in Nashville, Tennessee and I have searched for modeling agencies to get myself out more but it didn’t seem to work out much but I knew that doing modeling can turn into acting so I started to look into acting and I have seen that P Valley season two were casting extras and I applied in September 2021 and got my first email back from the company I was excited and nervous about actually being on set for the first time because it has always been my dream to become an actor and I had a great experience to see what it’s like on set and I have been looking out for other upcoming big tv shows meeting new people and networking with everyone so I have done fives shows and I will continue to keep doing shows this year and many more.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was few struggles but in 2019, it was going smooth for a while with modeling and fashion shows but when Covid 19 came in 2020, it was really the struggle. I could not travel places for shoots everything was shut down I was still working at the hospital but I was able to try my best to do photoshoots time to time until the pandemic started to slow down then in 2021 when I started applying for tv shows I have been able to drive back and forth to Atlanta a lot to come make sacrifices for the tv shows as background because I know that’s a start and more experience and I have gotten used to traveling so much I can already know what to expect when I come to Atlanta for films because I know that’s where the opportunities are I believe I still have a long way to go and to make my dream come true and I know it’ll be a struggle but it’ll make me feel accomplished because I had to take one step at a time and be patient and wait for my time to come

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, my work is still working on set as background for films and working my way up to speaking roles soon. I have done a feature role for a Tyler Perry show and I have also done a Stand In role also for P Valley and I am known for working well with others working as a team and motivating one another. I am also proud of surrounding myself around everyone that I see and work with on set and that we all have a connection and that we all never give up on something we all work hard for. I believe what sets me apart from others is that some of the people I used to hang around with in high school it changed me because I knew that I wasn’t going to be a follower. I had to make smart decisions in my life because I didn’t want to go down the wrong path so I’ve had some doubts and I moved on in life to do what’s best for me to always remain calm and focus on what is in front of me and not behind I never held a grudge against anyone I just had to accept that I have been around the wrong people and that I need to be around the right people that are going to keep me going through life.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I have learned that during Covid 19 that it was a horrible crisis we all had to go through losing family members to the virus and some people not wanting to wear masks and continuing to spread the virus more to cause more damage and I stayed safe through the pandemic I took all my shots and I would rather be safe and not have to go through the crisis again.
