MiMi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I launched my business Dose of Mi a little over 4 years ago and have been a content creator more than double that time. In 2018 I took my tax refund check and purchased my first collection of clothes. It’s definitely been a journey; every day is a new lesson and I welcome it all
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When you don’t come from money, no one in your family to ask for business advice, first-generation and limited funds it’s going to be a bumpy ride. I’m learning everything on my own.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Along with owning my online boutique, I create fashion, beauty, and lifestyle-based content. I am currently working on my 2nd annual fashion show event which will be held on October 14th this year. I’m most proud of my tenacity. No matter what obstacles are placed in front of me I keep going. I think that its one of the things that set me apart; a lot of people don’t have the follow through.
