Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Butterfield.
Hi Nadia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my acting and modeling career back when I was in high school, but as a dancer growing up, I have always had a strong love for the arts. I started taking classes and went to a talent expo in Dallas when I was 18. I won multiple awards there and even signed with an agency afterward. It didn’t lead to much, though, since I was a freshman in college at the time. Once I graduated with my degree in 2019, I decided that I wanted to go after my dreams full throttle. By January 2023, I attended IMTA LA and signed with my current management. In May of 2023, I landed my first national commercial with Peloton. In September of 2023, I signed to my current modeling agency based in New York. In 2024, I am determined to keep climbing towards my next stage of dreams and goals. I am very excited about what the future has in store for me. It’s only the beginning!
It wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been challenging. Mentally, it is very taxing. You only have you to count on. From financial struggles, doubts, and life in general, sometimes I feel like quitting. But I never do. Over the years, I have built my confidence and faith up to an unbreakable level. I trust and know that I will get to where I want to be in life and beyond. My mental state is key to how I thrive in my industry. Things may look uncertain, but that doesn’t mean it will always be that way.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a model, actress, dancer, and micro-influencer. I am mainly known for my modeling. Honestly, I am proud of all my talents. I love being so multi-faceted. One of my proudest moments recently was closing out two NYFW shows this past February. It was truly a unique and God-aligned experience, given that I only had one show booked initially and ended up closing at primary runway production. What sets me apart is my authenticity. I can’t be anyone else but myself, no matter what. I have a lively personality that I use to get me in rooms I “shouldn’t” be in. Though I am still building my resume, I have had a lot of experience with major artists and brands, and I take those experiences as a way to learn and improve in the future.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as the freedom to be yourself. In this world, many people don’t really know who they are. Maybe outside circumstances made them forget. But after going through such traumatic experiences at such a young age, I spent a lot of time remembering who I am, and I will never forget again.
