Today, we’d like to introduce you to Norah Wilson.
Hi Norah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Ah, I’m so glad to be back again doing this for you guys! It’s truly an honor! A lot of things have changed since our last sit-down, but definitely all for the better!
Within the last eight months, I have received all of my accolades and licensure from the school and the Board of Cosmetology & Barbers. However, in doing so, I’ve had to sacrifice my brick-and-mortar location of OMGEstheticz and have since joined the Heyday franchise.
Of course, emotions were heightened during this time, and even though a load was lifted, I still felt more stressed and devastated by how the outcome turned out, but over time, I realized a couple of things:
1. It’s ALWAYS ok to admit when you’re wrong, over your head, or need help.
2. Quality will always beat quantity.
3. Sometimes, going back is going forward.
4. To grow is to learn.
As great as it was to have a suite and work on my own, learning modern techniques and collaborating with others has been such a joy, and I’m glad to now be part of a company that perceives just that.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh, of course not, but when has it ever been?
I can say this has been one of my biggest challenges to date, just because it’s being experienced through a time when I’m not a kid anymore. People are showing their true colors, my best friend becoming a stranger {and replaced by MARTA}, and losing someone closer than anyone I’ve ever lost prior.
Life is just life-ing hard, yet everything happens for a reason.
With all this purging, I know something great has already started to occur, and I’m grateful that it’s happening when it is. It’s left me with strength in myself and the relationships that remained. I’m excited to embark on this chapter and see what it brings!
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a licensed esthetician in the state of Georgia, currently working as a Skin Therapist at Heyday on Krog St.
My specialties are complete tailor-made facials using naturopathic remedies, including essential oils, pressure point techniques, and affirmations. I’m most proud of always asking the hard questions that help me to help others and my ability to make anyone feel at ease.
How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
Getting a facial would be a great start! However, if time or money is a constraint, then spreading the word and sharing my page would be wonderful!
