Today we’d like to introduce you to Oladapo Falase.

Hi Oladapo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
After the wedding of my daughter in 2009, it became clear to me that an average income earner who loves to gather family & celebrate memorable events are not able to afford a decent venue. It was hardly possible to also have sufficient hours that will accommodates party set up, a relaxed party time & cleanup. That need begun a hunger in me to give back to the community by providing a safe, cosy, cost effective and family oriented venue with allowance of over 12 hours per event.
“To whom much is given, much is expected” hence by God’s grace, my desire to be a blessing by providing Events and Banquets, an event center in Covington, Georgia for a nominal fee started in 2012
The center conveniently accommodates most family events with up to 125 occupancy. We have been able to serve clients from other counties as well.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I tried to keep the cost down to continue to stay open by ensuring responsible events with minimal risk of vandalism. Thankfully we’ve only had a few of those Client satisfaction is a priority, but unfortunately we sometimes have clients who are entitled & ungrateful with unrealistic expectations of luxury for the amount paid
Rude & belligerent clients
Thankfully, most clients are nice and take good care of the property like their own.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First, I’m a retired registered nurse with over 45 combined years of experience as a Nurse, Administrator and business manager. So I have always engaged in serving people & their families. This background has prepared me for this hospitality business & engagement with clients and families.
People appreciate my buoyant personality and caring attitude. Our clients are our main source of referrals.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love Covington because of the people and size. I have met many kind and nice people. The Sheriff department have been very efficient in promptly responding to calls as needed; they often patrol the areas which has lessen the incidence of crime.
Covington keeps growing with new developments all around. The county seems to be up to the task of catching up with the growth.
