Life & Work with O’Ryan Pooler

Today we’d like to introduce you to O’Ryan Pooler.

O’Ryan Pooler

Hi O’Ryan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2020, I wanted to take a leap of faith and start in the hair industry. I launched my hairline P.S. I’m slayed in efforts to provide alopecia and cancer patients with quality hair. Once I launched my hairline, I knew I wanted to shoot for a certain look so I began to do installs so I went from CEO to CEO/stylist in a matter of six months.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Chile, no! lol the hair business is one of those areas that’s constantly evolving. Since launching my business is 2020 there’s been a plethora of styles, techniques, and methods that I’ve had to learn to make sure that I was keeping up with the Joneses. One tip I do want to give to up-and-coming stylists is never be too good that you’re not willing to learn. I’ve invested so much money in hands-on classes, e-books, etc. and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Master wig artist and every client that sits in my chair I consider a muse. I make wigs on a sewing machine, and I also own a hair company that provides custom and manufactured units. I specialize in glue and glue-less wig installs (glue-less for clients that enjoy the convenience of being able to take the wigs off on a day-to-day basis). my goal is to also promote healthy hair so I also sell bonnets and do locs, and loc maintenance. I’m most proud that I’m always able to step out on faith and network with people I never thought I’d cross paths with (i.e., Actress, and rappers, etc.). I think the part that sets me apart is my aura and my ability to not only speak life into people but to ensure they walk out with a confidence they forgot existed after they leave my chair

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
My favorite podcasts are known for sure podcasts with Maegan Ashley and B.simone, R&B Money Podcast and The Basement with Tim Ross. I’m going to keep it to a minimum with the books, so to name a few it would have to be Feeding the Soul by Tabitha Brown, The Marathon Don’t Stop by Rob Kenner and lastly Lost and Found by Sarah Jakes.
