Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Green.
Hi Pamela, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My Beginning started off rocky and I lived in Cali at the time. I was molested as well as bullied at an early age by a female friend of the family! So for years, I deal with low self-esteem, depression, rejection and so many other insecurities. So many of my experiences began early in my life. I began drinking alcohol & using drugs at the age of 13, smoking cigarettes at 12 years old. At first, the drug of choice was weed then from there it was cocaine, then we experimented with free basing this was when I was in the 11th grade and from there acid, popping pills and then crack cocaine! I was hooked up until 1990! I stopped for a year when I found out I was pregnant! But after I had my son, I started right back up! Until it happened, I met a man who changed my life and delivered me from my crack addiction! That man name is JESUS! He started me on my way to where I am today. It was one last episode that brought me out into HIS marvelous light! I had gotten involved with a young man that was living a lifestyle of Gangs & drugs!
And one day, the light bulb came on when my two years old Son said something that he shouldn’t have said! But he was just repeating what he heard the example of a man I had chosen for him! But right then and there my mind became clear, this is not what I want for my son! But back then, once you were associated with a person in a gang you were a part of it and there was NO out! I had really gotten myself and son in something that I couldn’t get us out of! But then came Divine Intervention! There were a number of turn around that took place and my life was drastically changed from the bad to the good! God gave us a way of escape! I had gave my life to Christ, began to serve in the church every and any way I could. There were some more experiences I had to go through but I never stop serving GOD and being led by HIM. My mother got sick and had to have a surgery that was going to keep her down of a while here in GA. Me being her only child, I had to come and take care of her. Once again GOD gave me a way of escape out of Cali. I came here took care of my mom and got a job at a salon. I was a Master Cosmetologist for 15 years but while doing hair, I was always ministering to someone in some way or another. I would sometimes get women off the street or drug addicts bring them in salon and pamper them & minister to them. Another young lady and I used to go into areas where others dared to go and minister to be getting high in the bushes. I started a young girl mentoring program in Thomasville heights. Outreach is my ministry that GOD has called me to do and I love what I do! That is helping people and showing the Love of Christ!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Never been smooth, it’s always been hard work, perseverance, faith staying humble and never forgetting where GOD brought me from! My obstacles & Challenges were overcoming drug addiction, low self-esteem, depression, anger issues, coming out of being the victim to becoming victorious! I tried committing suicide three times but I am still here!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
