Life & Work with Princess Haynes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Princess Haynes.

Hi Princess, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started on 2HotRadio almost two years ago only having a show on the radio on Wednesdays from 6pm-12am. The goal was to start to grow in the business so I made sure to take on as much as I could. Now I am the operation manager managing customer service, marketing/sales, social media, events and Human Resources. It took me quitting the job I had working on behalf of Microsoft that I worked almost ten years holding records in the company nobody will ever beat but not getting the chance to advance. I took a chance by leaving, especially not really knowing how I would still be the provider for my family but it all worked out. Now my career is growing and I’m getting paid to do what I love, which is helping others to grow in their careers.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road as with growth comes hate and everyone was not happy about the moves I was making for me. I still deal with family not understanding I’ve started over taking a whole other career path but the one I really wanted. They want me to go back to the easy money when I was just giving it out not understanding that as I build more will come from what I’m doing and I’ll be happy rather than making good money and being depressed. There were weeks I didn’t know if I was going to be able to pay my bills making this transition but I never let it discourage me and have always been able to make a way. I don’t let the obstacles get in my way. I find a way around them because this is what I want and I’m never going to give up.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Not only do I work with 2HotRadio I also run my own business where I’m about inspiring and motivating people. My name is Princess but I go by Princess With The Real because I’m all about keeping it real. I don’t want people getting wrapped in social media and what people are putting on about. I want people to have a mind of their own so I’m about giving people something to think about. I also have a show called From The Bottom To The Top where I interview people on their life stories to inspire and motivate others to keep going after their dreams. I want people to know we all struggle and anything worth having is worth working hard for but not only that we all go through obstacles you can’t let them bring you down. You have to keep going after everything you want in life.

I’m proud of all my accomplishments in life starting with getting not one but two degrees because after having my first child at 16 I didn’t know how my life would turn out especially with everything I’ve been through.. The fact that I can be a role model for my kids makes me so proud teaching them they can do anything they put their mind to. I am also proud that I took a chance on me rather than living for everyone else.

I consider myself a different breed because I move at a different speed. My personality is the thing that sets me apart from others, nothing but good vibes and good vibrations. I’m the life of the party but also about getting the job done so when it comes to working for others my work stands out.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
I would say the thing I loved most is when we would have family spades at night. It gave us a chance to laugh, be loud and talk smack. When playing cards it was like all the issues went away and still to this day I love to play spades. We didn’t do alot of family stuff together to build memories but we played cards, dominos and would occasionally go out to work together on a job as a family. All of that helped me to grow as a woman, teaching me structure and much more.
