Today we’d like to introduce you to Quente Jackson.
Hi Quente , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Absolutely. My story really starts with curiosity, creativity, and community. I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and from a young age, I was drawn to storytelling—whether through conversation, music, or finding the beauty in everyday experiences. When I moved to Atlanta, I came with the intention of building something bigger than myself. I didn’t have a roadmap, just a passion for connecting people and creating spaces where authenticity is celebrated.
I got my start in media with BE Magazine, which opened the door to interviews, red carpets, and learning the craft of storytelling from the ground up. From there, I stepped into radio with the Live with T’Marie & Que Show, and later helped build out The Quintessential Gentleman magazine. Each experience sharpened my voice, my eye, and my understanding of what representation truly means—not just visually, but emotionally and culturally.
That foundation allowed me to launch Quente’Sential Branding, where I help creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations shape their stories, sharpen their messaging, and show up confidently in their industries. Through that work, I learned the power of intentional branding and how it can transform someone’s entire trajectory.
Today, all of these experiences have evolved into a full ecosystem of platforms—BLK Talk Media, Quen Hunger Strikes, Brothers on Business Inc., Que The Music, and Quente’Sential Branding. Each one is rooted in the same mission: to uplift, inform, inspire, and celebrate our community through honest conversation, creative storytelling, and intentional connection.
I’ve learned that success isn’t a straight line; it’s a series of moments, pivots, lessons, and leaps of faith. And I’m grateful for every step that brought me here.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it’s been a full roller coaster, loops and all. I’ve experienced so many changes in the industry, in my personal experiences, and even in my passions. What I thought I wanted at one stage didn’t always align with who I was becoming, and that forced me to pivot more times than I ever expected.
There were seasons where opportunities slowed down, moments where I questioned my voice, and times when life outside of work pulled me in other directions. But every shift taught me something—about resilience, about timing, and about the importance of giving yourself room to grow.
I’m thankful that we live in a time where reinventing yourself isn’t viewed as a failure, but a form of evolution. Each version of me has prepared the next one, and every challenge pushed me closer to my purpose. The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been necessary—and honestly, I wouldn’t change it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a storyteller and connector at heart. Through BLK Talk Media, Quen Hunger Strikes, Quente’Sential Branding, Brothers on Business Inc., and Que The Music, I create spaces where real stories, culture, and community can shine.
I specialize in authenticity—whether I’m interviewing guests, highlighting culinary experiences, or helping someone develop their brand. I’m known for making people feel comfortable, asking meaningful questions, and bringing a mix of heart, humor, and honesty to everything I do.
What I’m most proud of is the impact: helping people feel seen, supported, and inspired. What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity, intention, and genuine connection in every project I touch.
Any big plans?
My plans for the future are all about expansion, elevation, and deeper impact. I’m looking forward to growing each of my platforms—BLK Talk, Quen Hunger Strikes, Quente’Sential Branding, Que The Music, and Brothers on Business Inc.—in ways that reach more people and create even more meaningful connections.
I’m planning to step into bigger conversations, larger partnerships, and more intentional storytelling. That includes expanding BLK Talk into broader media spaces, collaborating with more brands and creatives, and continuing to build community-centered events that educate, inspire, and bring people together.
There are some big changes on the horizon: new formats, new cities, new collaborations, and new opportunities to amplify voices that deserve the spotlight. I’m excited to grow not just as a creator, but as a leader, a businessman, and a bridge-builder in the community. The goal is simple—keep evolving, keep showing up, and keep creating work that matters.
