Today we’d like to introduce you to Quineitra Shelby. Them and their team share their story with us below:
With only three songs released and an upcoming EP release, Quineitra Shelby is a new upcoming artist in the R&B world based in Atlanta, Ga. Growing up in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Quineitra has studied under her father, Quincy McCullum and grandmother, Alinda McCullum who are both gospel singers. Quineitra traveled with her dad on the road as a child, and was able to experience firsthand what it was like to be on the road as an artist. Quineitra started to have an interest in music around age seven and studied artist such as Beyonce, Tori Kelly, Kim Burrell, and Brandy which inspired her passion for R&B.
Quineitra began writing in 2016 while studying artist such as Chris Brown, Tory Lanez and her older brother, Quinton McCullum who is also an R&B singer that she describes as her “biggest fan”. In 2019, Quineitra recorded her first track in Houston,TX at Sonic Studios with producer and engineer Adrian Mares and continued to build relationship a with the sonic studios family.
In 2021, Quineitra started her music journey with her then- Fiance, Shaquille Shelby who is a rapper, producer, engineer and songwriter. While the two are not a music duo entirely, they play a big part in each other’s craft and currently have songs out on Youtube, Spotify, Apple music and Soundcloud. Shaquille Shelby will appear on her track “Gone” on her upcoming EP release.
Currently Quineitra is developing her vocal skills at Music on the move with Erin Phillips and preparing for her upcoming release of Q&B-The EP. “Situationships” and “Nobody Else” are scheduled to be released on July 7,2022 on all music platforms, and the official EP will be released on July 15,2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I would say that some of the struggles along the way is being a new independent artist and trying to make a name for myself.

I am a singer/ songwriter and I specialize in songwriting. I am most proud of my growth with songwriting because I remember being a little girl not thinking I would ever be able to be a songwriter but now I am doing it.
I think what sets me apart from most people is my work ethic. I’m always down to write/record and just having my husband be a “100 percenter” which means he produces, engineers and records himself it just puts me above a lot of people when it comes to working hard!
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is building a life for myself that my family can be proud of. I don’t ever want to see my family struggle again and I definitely don’t want to have kids until I reach my highest level in my career.
