Today we’d like to introduce you to Rissy Blessed.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a professional dominatrix, I’ve always been misunderstood. People recognized me as the lady with the black leather outfit that whoops men for a living. Well, generally, yes, yes I am, but I’m so much more than that. So my goal has always been to shed some positive light to the Fetish lifestyle and really educate people on what it’s really about. I’ve always wanted to display this concept somehow some way but didn’t know exactly how. One night on my way from a friend’s birthday event some friends and I were looking for an after hour spot. After countless “misses” we pulled into an empty parking lot and decided it’d just be best if we just took it in for the night. Before doing so, we sat with our cars side by side and had a great conversation. Thus iKRAVEU was born in the midst of that conversation! The concept, the name, the acts everything in one conversation in an empty parking lot in the middle of Atlanta at 3:30am. I wrote everything down in my phone notes and immediately went to work! I typed out the whole show beginning to end and then filled in the missing pieces. Had assistance with the logo and promo videos, the videographer I was working with at the time led me to an amazing set director by the name of Damani, who then led me to an amazing venue called Atlanta Production Factory in the Fulton Industrial area. All the pieces just started coming together one at a time. I put out a casting call for actors and actresses to act as “human art” and the feedback was incredible! All roles were filled within 3- 5 days tops. I booked my performers to include a pole artist, an aerialist and an contortionist. iKRAVEU had taken form and was quickly coming to life before my eyes!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has definitely not been an easy one. There were plenty of road bumps, stop signs and detours along the way. I couldn’t find a sound guy and when I did it was too overpriced. My videographer disappeared a few times “no call no show” leaving me to have to find someone else to replace him last minute which also forced me to postpone the show twice. As a result of the inconsistency my investor pulled out so I was left to fund the show myself. One of my performers wouldn’t give me a reign check or a refund after paying her in full for a performance she never did. The list could go on and on. Through it all, I continued to persevere and never lose sight of my dream.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Aside from being a professional dominatrix, I’m also a sexual exploration coach. I teach single men, women and couples how to explore their sexuality in many different ways. I feel like there’s such a stigma on sex anything nowadays. People look at sex with such a negative connotation and it’s really just a natural part of life. They accept and praise pregnancy and giving birth but not the process it took to make that baby. So my job is to normalize sexual exploration and even wanting and asking for assistance to help get you there or spice up your relationship. I aim to make people feel comfortable in their own skin and open them up to exploring their sexuality and teaching them different ways how to. I am also a creative director which explains the creativeness behind iKRAVEU. I can turn any idea into a creative visual masterpiece. The artistry behind my mind is impeccable. I’ve always been fond of art whether it’s drawing, art galleries, writing poetry as word art, architecture or museums. I’ve always had a creative mind and would think of the most off the wall ideas but super unique and creative. So with this project I decided to put that to the test and I have not disappointed myself. But since people have seen and heard my vision, they started asking me for creative advice on their projects. Hence the creative director hat was put on!
