Life & Work with Rochelle McRyans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rochelle McRyans.

Rochelle McRyans

Hi Rochelle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started out my career as a filmmaker by simple motivation and inspiration. I always had the dream of being on television as a child but took action on my own.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggles along the way that I endured with my craft and hunger to put my work out there was. Financing, for one, because I’m not a millionaire or a household producer like Steven Spielberg or whoever, as an independent producer, I had to pay for everything. The second struggle was playing multiple roles like as a producer, director, writer, casting director, actress, etc. I did everything by myself and was one woman doing it all alone with no assistance from a team, but I am very passionate about the showbusiness. The last challenge was deciding whether this project was worthy enough to go to a distributor and get on Tubi and Amazon Prime or just YouTube. I upload a lot of my projects that I make on YouTube the staple of all content made, and fame and money isn’t important to me, but recognition is.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of It’s a Really Rochelle Production LLC.

I named the company after myself because Rochelle McRyans is my name, and black girl magic is a real thing, and we sisters can do anything we put our minds to. I’m an Executive Producer, Producer, Director, Actress, Writer, Entrepreneur, Brand, and a Content Creator.

I mostly proud of starting my own business and getting voices of color and diversity heard through comedies, dramadies, and dramas. I began shooting short films and web series from my apartments and is now working on bigger projects.

What sets me apart from other people is my independence and making it happen on her own.,

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something surprising that most people don’t know is well… you have to meet me in person or sit down and have a conversation with me to find out.

See rather if I’m your cup of tea or piece of cake or not.
