Today we’d like to introduce you to Rosie Mason.
Hi Rosie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
The thought of running a business seemed so far-fetched for me. The idea came about in the midst of the pandemic in the summer of 2020. It was not actually until the summer of 2021 that I took action. It really all started with making drinks for friends’ parties. I enjoyed creating and seeing others have fun. After realizing that I had some sort of niche for making drinks, I decided to take myself seriously. It started with me doing a trial run. I made drink buckets, like the viral TikToks in the summer of 2021. Those were a hit, so I decided to start looking into names and logos. Being the Big Leo that I am, A Leos Potion came about. The party scene in college is what really helped me get to where I am today. I wanted to do something that I really hadn’t seen, so I did some research. I found that adult pouches were the way to go. Making those for picnics, parties, and events around my area got the word out about my business. Slowly but surely, I got loyal repetitive customers that spread my name to other colleges and areas in Georgia. I knew that I didn’t want to stay in the college scene forever so I decided to invest in myself and take a Mixology class and get certified. Took the class, passed, and started marketing myself as a mobile mixologist. Many friends have given me opportunities to work at their parties or friends and families of theirs to help my clientele. Each opportunity has been a growing and learning experience. To help with my rebrand, I relaunched my business in July of 2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road to get where I am today. I am an introvert for the most part. Being in the mixology business has pushed me to get out of that in many ways. It’s all about customer service and talking to patrons. I’ve had to think outside the box when it comes to marketing, cocktail recipes, and furthering my skills. The hardest part for me has been marketing. ATL is full of entrepreneurs, everyone is doing some of the same things, so I make sure that I can set myself apart from the rest. Getting my name out there has been hard but with time, the business has picked up.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My day-to-day life, I am an RBT, and Registered Behavior Technician. I work with kids on the Autism spectrum. I have worked with kids for the past eight years. I have been a babysitter, worked in daycares, and even a teacher in the school system. My passion though, is for my kids I work with now. I love helping them learn new skills every day. I’m known for always working with kids, it’s what I love. That’s why what I do now as a Mixologist gives me a balance between kids all day and adults. I am most proud of my journey thus far, personally and professionally. I’ve had a few career changes but I am starting to feel like I have made the right decision. I am proud that I actually started my business. I would say what sets me apart from others is my customer service and personality and my business name always is a conversation starter…
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is traveling up and down the east coast on multiple road trips with my family. I was able to sightsee at an early age.
