Life & Work with Samantha Babb

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Babb.

Hi Samantha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am the lead singer of my artist brand Sammie Beare. I’m an electro-pop artist from Fort Walton Beach, Florida. My Sammie beare brand consists of Trevor Lajiness or Luminary Solace Division as my producer, guitarist, and teammate and my choreographer Kaley Satterfield. I used to start off doing covers in my bedroom and then as I got older I got introduced more to studio sessions and by the time I was introduced to studios, it was game over. I started writing my own songs and went through multiple different producers. I had never found one that was as dedicated to music as Trevor.

Ever since then, we’ve been creating more music and both found a reason for living together. Then Kaley came along and also changed the game. She went to school for dance choreography and she’s gotten me out of my shell by pushing me to dance in stage. It gives me something to do with my hands when we perform on stage. I love it. We’re working on our most recent album now and focusing playing shows in the 850. Soon we will branch out and hit more places.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been pretty smooth after meeting my teammates Trevor and Kaley. Before this, I was struggling finding people who wanted to take music as seriously as I did. I love them with all my heart.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I sing and help with creating the beats through FL Studio with Trevor Lajiness. I dance with Kaley Satterfield on stage to give the performance more creativity. I’m most proud of really everything to be honest. I’m proud of how the quality of the music keeps getting better and more unique the more that we continue. I’m proud of the lyrics I put into the songs. We always work really hard into putting into our songs everything we’ve got. I’m proud of my team we put together. I feel like what sets us apart is that we can mingle with any group. We can mingle with EDM, rap, and metal. I’ve featured in some country as well. I just feel like we’re very versatile when it comes down to our local music scene.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To stop letting people dictate you on what they think you should or shouldn’t do. Because it’s your life and everything happens the way it does for a reason. The judgment that others put on you is not your responsibility. When you start being yourself everything else is history.
