Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Honestly, I’ve always loved a good gathering. Growing up, my parents were the life of the party — the kind of people who made sure everyone felt welcome and had a good time. Our house was always full of people, laughter, music, and good food. Whether it was a birthday, a cookout, or just a random weekend, our home was the spot for friends and family to come together and celebrate life.
That energy stuck with me. I didn’t know it back then, but those moments shaped who I am and what I love to do. I’ve always enjoyed planning little get-togethers, decorating for parties, and making things feel special — not just pretty, but meaningful. Over time, that passion turned into an actual business.
That’s how Chic Celebrations LLC was born — a photobooth and balloon rental company that helps people celebrate their special moments in style. For me, it’s about more than just balloons or backdrops. It’s about helping people create memories, capturing joy, and adding that little “extra” to make a moment unforgettable.
Now, I get to do what I love — helping others celebrate life’s big (and small) moments. And every time I see someone light up in front of the camera or smile at a setup we’ve created, I’m reminded of those family gatherings growing up. It all comes full circle.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it definitely hasn’t been a smooth road — not at all. Starting Chic Celebrations has been one of the most rewarding but also one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. I’ve had to learn so much on my own — from setting up equipment and designing balloon installs to handling bookings, marketing, and customer service. There were days I felt overwhelmed and wondered if I was really built for this. It’s hard when you’re doing everything yourself and trying to make it all look effortless.
But through every late night, every learning curve, and every moment of self-doubt, God has been right there with me. This business is a true testament of faith. I’ve had to lean on Him constantly — especially when things felt uncertain or when I didn’t know where the next opportunity was coming from. Somehow, He always makes a way.
And honestly, the hard parts fade the moment I see it all come together — the balloons, the backdrops, the photos. But more than that, seeing the joy on people’s faces, the laughter in the booth, or a client getting emotional over how beautiful everything looks — that’s what makes it all worth it. It reminds me why I started, and that this work is so much bigger than just a setup. It’s a blessing to play even a small part in someone’s special moment.
So no, it hasn’t been smooth. But it’s been beautiful — and I wouldn’t trade the journey for anything.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
By day, I’m a high school counselor, and I’ve proudly worked in education for the past 11 years. My heart has always been with students who need a little extra support, specifically those who have faced both personal and academic setbacks. I specialize in helping them rebuild their confidence, get back on track, and believe in themselves again. It’s work that requires patience, empathy, and a deep commitment to seeing the potential in every student — even when they can’t see it in themselves just yet.
Outside of school hours, I shift into my role as the owner and founder of Chic Celebrations. While it might seem like two completely different worlds, both roles are rooted in the same core values: celebrating growth, creating joy, and helping people feel seen. Whether I’m helping a student walk across the graduation stage or helping a client capture memories at their baby shower or birthday party, it’s about making people feel celebrated and supported.
What I’m most proud of is that I’ve built both of these paths with intention and heart. I’ve been able to pour into others in more than one way — academically, emotionally, and creatively. What sets me apart is my ability to truly connect with people, no matter the setting. I bring the same energy, compassion, and attention to detail to my students as I do to my clients.
I think that’s what makes Chic Celebrations special, too — it’s not just about pretty balloons or photobooths. It’s about creating moments that matter. Just like in my counseling work, I want every person I come across to leave feeling better than they came — seen, valued, and full of joy. And getting to do that through both of my passions is something I’ll never take for granted.
