Life & Work with Terrance Casteal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terrance Casteal.

Hi Terrance, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Wicked Lemon was originally a side hustle (HoodSnaxz). At the time it was a way to make some extra money to help take care of my daughter before she was born. After she was born about a week later I officiated paperwork and changed over Wicked Lemon. I have attended a few pop-up shops but most of the reputation for Wicked Lemon came from word of mouth. I have sold bottles in the airport to friends. My biggest shift was coming to Conyers just seeing how fast the knowledge of Wicked Lemon has impacted the community here from the locals to being plugged into the school system. The shift is still going but the imprint Wicked Lemon is making has grown a lot.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has been a struggle. My biggest obstacle was overcoming my depression and a lot of it had made me uncomfortable to step out of my comfort zone to truly push my business. I can honestly say that my daughter and her future has been my push to get through my depression and really show the world that Wicked Lemon is here to last a lifetime not for the world but for my daughter.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an entrepreneur at heart. My family and friends have known me to come up with business ideas for everything. A few years ago I started my first business (Prominent Royalty). It was a clothing line. This business was truly a step forward in the right direction but I came across a lot of flaws in my business practice and I took a lot of losses until Covid came. After a few months of Covid, I had to let it go but not give up the dream. Wicked Lemon became my second business startup but the blueprint to my path of success became clearer given the trial and error. I can say that with a lot of constant research and optimism along with prayer I have better results than before.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was a quiet kid. I got into a lot of activities on my own based out of curiosity and willingness to learn something new. School was not my strong suit due to me having no interest in what was taught. Most of my teachers were annoyed because of my questioning of what was taught. I have played football all my life, it was my favorite sport aside other sports I’ve played. My friends ‘til this day come to me for my old man wisdom. A lot of my interests have been in understanding raw materials such as what started anything and how did we get here now for this. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking and planning and just gaining knowledge.
