Life & Work with The Strange Content Sow Strange & Deique Bleu of Stone Mountain, GA

Today we’d like to introduce you to The Strange Content Sow Strange & Deique Bleu.

Hi The Strange Content, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Deique Bleu

Originally from Mobile AL. After graduating I went straight to college at Georgia Southern University. Upon finishing my time there I decided to make Atlanta my home as I saw more opportunities in a lot of areas here, unlike Mobile. I spent a little time attending The Art Institute of Atlanta, but decided I wanted to be more hands on in a less stressful environment. So I started by music recording equipment as well as video cameras and started learning them on my own. I eventually chose that I wanted to do music. My mom and dad are both music lovers and have a lot of records, so my background consist of a multitude of genres. House music is my favorite because love that it shares. The first time I really ever felt free was on the dance floor. My goal as a House Music producer is to consistently recreate that vibe over and over so others can feel free and let the music take over. Today, I produce for The Strange Content (Sow Strange and Me) as well as for my own projects. I have also down remixes for record labels and artist in South Africa. I am dropping a self produced EP 03/25/25 that should gain a lot of attention in the dance community here in Atlanta. Outside of all that I am somewhat of an Atlanta socialite. Known but unknown if that makes sense….LOL. People that I come in contact love my energy.

Sow Strange

Hartford, CT born and raised by my beautiful family who have always managed to keep me well grounded while simultaneously allowing me to fly, to explore, to follow my own paths and create my own ways. My family truly nurtured me and poured into me and for that I am forever thankful. I had no clue life had been and still is preparing me for life as a musical creative artist, a vocalist, a producer and a homesteader.
Poetry and productions were my creative outlets of choice before moving to Georgia. Open mics, music, people, great vibes, culture, community and theatre. I’ve been on a few stages. Played various sports on multiple courts. Even walked a few runways. Collaborating with other poets, photographers, directors, painters, stylists, artists and dreamers. Living in the moments with no clear destination. Just enjoying learning, living and loving. Cherishing the wonderful people that surrounded me personally and on the art scene in my home city.
Now, I love to garden, create, live life, make music. I’m still learning my singing voice and how to produce. I didn’t grow up wanting to be a singer or considering myself a vocalist. I wrote poems, stories and songs for many years, but not with a career in music in mind. I still don’t write with any particular goal in mind besides being a conduit for the words and messages. I’m not trying to reach a particular demographic. Nor am I trying to be a proverbial super star. I write because the words are ready to be written and our frequencies have aligned. I don’t read music or play an instrument, but I can keep a note (although I may not know which note it is).
Deique and I established our relationship in 2017, discovered each others musical inclinations and began creating together. In 2018 we released our first independent single ‘A-Team’ and our first single on a on a label, ‘Deep in Love’, was released in 2021. I’m looking forward to releasing my first project since the ‘Frequency + Reality’ EP in 2022. Our evolutions as The Strange Content and as individual artists is a journey we’ve embarked upon together. We both have different creative musical abilities and styles and are able to collaborate when the feeling, words and music are in sync. We also collaborate on each other’s projects, enjoying creating music as Ourselves and as Us. The styles from song to song are so different. Each with its own unique vibe and sometimes genre. It’s very easy to get lost in the proverbial sauce especially when a song is on ‘repeat one’. The lyrics, though simple, are always more than enough to convey messages and evoke thoughts and feelings. We’re two sides of the same magic. It’s a beautiful. I love it. We love it. We are The Strange Content.
We look forward to the world getting to know and experience us as we grow, learn and fly this plane as we build it. We want to thank you for reaching out and joining us on our musical journey.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Deique Bleu

It really hasn’t been a smooth one at all. Coming from a small city to a Metropolis like Atlanta, life started moving fast. I started hanging with the wrong crowds wasting valuable time. However, through strength and motivation I was able to progress and get back on track. I also had to shrink my friends and focus on my goal which was to be a producer. I had to make sacrifices and I am glad that I did. I feel like my hard work will shine this year.

Sow Strange

Overall, it hasn’t been the smoothest road, but it hasn’t been the bumpiest either. I’ve had ups, downs and turn arounds, but I’m still here. Thankfully, I have not experienced any long-lived perpetual struggles. I’ve realized over the years that I live mostly in the moment so, my struggles are usually just for the time being, however long that span may be, but not forever. Life has taught me to struggle less, learn more, earn more, be more, say more and say less, love more and live my life. Struggles and problems present opportunities to build strength and find solutions. Perspectives matter.

As The Strange Content, the biggest struggle we had was adjusting to each others creative ways. How we create and when we create. That took a while and we’re still learning, but we have a good balance. Allowing ourselves the grace to create when the creation is ready to created, when the words flow, and the music speaks.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Deique Bleu

My day job is Inside Sales. My job after work is a music producer. I am known for being a socialite as well as a producer. I am proud of how far I have come in a short period of time. I have always done music, but I have always not been serious about it. I had to learn from scratch, learning and practicing something new everyday for years. I think what sets me apart from others is that I am like a robot. I work and work and work until I get the result that I want.

Sow Strange

I suppose I specialize in gardening. I’ve been steadily working on growing the garden in my mind and the garden of my life. I’ve learned so much over the years and still have so much more to know. The journey of sowing and growing is a rewarding peak and valley experience. An experience I am always happy to share knowledge from with family, friends and colleagues. I enjoy it and I’m happy to be a resource.
I’m proud of my resilience and resourcefulness as well as my abilities to keep going, keep learning, keep moving forward, and keep leveling up however incrementally and figuring things out. Progress is key. Doing a bit better every day. I’m also proud of my sense of determination and discipline to get things done. These abilities are proven vital.

The Strange Content

We specialize in creating music that feels refreshingly good. Our genres include, but are not limited to House, Spoken Word and Hip-Hop.
