Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Turcotte.
Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi! I am Tiffany Turcotte, owner of Three Peaches Photography! I am a self taught family photographer who was gifted a camera for my 30th birthday. I quit my job to start a dream and I never looked back. Having a creative outlet has changed my life in ways I could never think of. Right when I started, I found out a LOT of my family members were photographers and there history is incredible. My grandfather had won tons of awards for his pictures on my dad’s side. My great grandfather on my mother’s side was the lead photographer of the Washington Post and covered NFL football games. I kept finding out more and more and that is when I jknew this is what I am meant to do and it has kept me going. I would say most of my advertising has been by word of mouth and the community spreading my name everywhere. I do photo and video sessions which I believe makes me stand out in my area. Not only do my clients receive photos to take as a keepsake but they have the option of me also giving them a video of there session as well, who doesn’t like a little home video to go along with there pictures? Making the video is my favorite part, I get to put all the clips together and choose a song, it makes the session come to life tenfold.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My photography journey so far has been a smooth road. With the support of my husband, my kids, my family and friends – I am truly blessed. Their will always be struggles in the photography world such as weather, having to rescheduling, learning how to run a business, social media pressuring you to post everything you can but I just take it day by day and I learn something new everyday. I follow other photographers who inspire me for business questions and also to see what new gear photographers have. I did not go to photography school or have an Arts degree but I can assure you that I have watched countless hours on YouTube, and every platform learning my camera and video strategy, learning how to edit correctly and finding my style! All of if it is so fun to me, the creative process in a session awakens my soul!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I believe what sets me apart from the world of 1 million photographers is that when I started, I wanted to be different right from the start and in my area there wasn’t anyone who did family photography sessions with a video included of that session. So, what I do is I take photos and video at the same time during the entire session and in return you receive a video keepsake about 1-2 minutes long. It has blown up & immediately I was booked out for 6 months, everyone wanted video sessions. I have always liked marketing and branding so I had the idea of a “Branding Package” as well so whoever booked the branding package would have access to all the video clips to be able to create there own content along with the reels that I make for them as well. I want to break the stigma of “being picture perfect” I knew right from the start that I do not want my family sessions to be posed, I want to document the raw and real images and it is the same for branding – action shots are worth more then posed – its capturing the real you. Its fun to hear “wow that was easy” after my sessions because everyone let there guard down just a little to be able to capture those pictures.
