Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis “BigT” Arrington.
Hi Travis “BigT”, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I actually created the company back in 2018 but I never circled back around to taking it seriously until 2025. I also have a sneaker/ sports memorabilia company that was doing very well, which took most of my attention at the time. But as life changes, I had an epiphany and went straight to work on building Drippin Glaze Donuts. I wanted this to be a family business so me and my fiance run the company. We have exceeded our expectations in just less than a year!
We had to start at ground level in March 2025. We went LLC with the company and started hours and hours on You Tube to learn how to create an original donut mix, as well as how to create a basic donut glaze. From there, a lot of trial and error but we came up with a really good donut batter and we learn how to create different flavors when it came to the glazes.
By May, we did our debut release at the ATL Dessert Festival at Grant Park, which was a major success. By July, at the ATL Donut Festival at Piedmont Park, we literally Sold Out within 4 hrs of the event. We also were interviewed and featured live on Fox 5 Atlanta.
By the end of July, we secured a distribution deal with Walmart.com to sell our variety (6) pack.. Our donut review videos from various customers were going viral on social media.
We were recently featured in IHeart Radio Podcast “The Baller Alert” as well.
We now have invested in a food truck just for our donuts , coffee, etc, whisked helped up secure a contract one of the Bank of America corporate locations here in Atlanta. We are just getting started!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Owning your own business is definitely rough From start up cost, time spent, and that’s just in the beginning. We have had a lot of hills to overcome just to get to this point. This is definitely not for the weak but you have to trust the process at the end of the day. There is no cheat code.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We bake our donuts. They are not fried as most other brands do. Ours is more of a cake donut 🍩
We bake them fresh in the spot for most of the events we have or locations where we are booked.
We specialize in the glazes. We offer now up to 14 different glazes that you can choose from.
We dedicated a donut to the iconic group “OutKast” which is called the “ATLien” which is a green pistachio glaze like the color of that album cover, topped with pistachio crumbs. It is one of most requested donut 🍩
