Life & Work with Trent Ian

Today we’d like to introduce you to Trent Ian.

Trent Ian

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making music when I was 20. I made my 1st song ‘Sexy As Hell’ in 2015 which currently is on SoundCloud and released in 2022. I took a break to focus on acting and while taking classes my interest in filmmaking came about too. In 2018, I began making music again and made my 1st project which was released in 2020 and another one in 2021. I have a new project that will be released in 2023 called ‘A Project 2’. During that timeframe, I was asked to be a writer for an indie film called ‘Secrets Known’ which is still in production currently.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not been a smooth journey. I have experience being homeless, rejection, and contemporaries not taking me seriously at times but that doesn’t stop me from working. Do you wanna wake up and be miserable working a job you hate or do you wanna wake up and work a job a job that does not feel like work? Nothing in life is easy but it’s worth it following your dreams and passion. Can’t stop won’t stop Diddy said it best.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an all-around entertainer. I am a singer, rapper, songwriter, actor, writer, producer, director and comedian. My primary focuses are my music and my filmmaking career and I’m proud of the work on my new music project ‘A Project 2’. I have some more touches to add on the project but I feel it’s my strongest musical project and it can help me get the attention I need to grow in my career. I’m also proud of my 1st indie film project ‘Secrets Known’, I never thought my 1st film involvement would be as a writer. Thought it would be as an actor!

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Stay positive. You’re always gonna have doubts. People are gonna criticize and say their opinions but as long as you’re satisfied with the end result that’s all that matters. As long as 95% of people like your material, keep going never stop.
