Life & Work with Tru Blu

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tru Blu.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Unfortunately, the beginning of my story didn’t have a good start. However, it will not have a bad ending. Born in Casper, Wyoming June 14, 1982 my family migrated to Sacramento, California in the early ’80s. Growing up in Sac was like the real wild west, and as the saying goes, you become a product of your environment. When I was sixteen, I was incarcerated following an incident protecting my family. During those nineteen years is when I graduated high school, obtained an associates in Business Communications and Social Science, released my first album Heart of Stone and established my production company Concrete Corruption. Although I did have a lot of obstacles in front of my path. I made sure to take all the proper steps to get my business started. I then got introduced to Urban Life Rap Bay by another Sacramento legend Dre D.

As of 2022, Concrete Corruption has 26 projects released on every digital platform with more to come as we release every April 1st and October 1st, nine music videos and currently a finalist in the 2HotRadio Who Wants to Make It tour. From the West Coast to the down South Concrete Corruption has been performing on stages and spreading our merchandise in every state we touch. I started this company with my own blood sweat and tears, now that those scares are healing the goal of Concrete Corruption is to grow bigger and better. My favorite saying to tell my children is “With every sunrise, we get stronger and stronger”. Each day I practice those words in my business as well. Always looking for new talent, new ideas, new ways to woah the world. Stay tuned for many new projects and merchandise by subscribing to Concrete Corruption’s YouTube channel, Instagram and Facebook Page.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The struggle I faced was getting myself in front of the proper people to make the proper moves. As an independent artist myself, the hardest thing to do is get your work heard by the mass amount of people.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We bridge the gap, the music we create brings together the old and new soul’s swag. We are trying to shift the culture back to what music used to feel like. We bring the love back into music.

What matters most to you? Why?
Changing the mindsets of everyone who thinks it’s too late.
