Today we’d like to introduce you to Vempre Terrell Jr.
Hi Vempre, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey has been shaped by a deep desire to make a meaningful, lasting impact. I began as an author, using writing to process life lessons, growth, and purpose. What started as a personal outlet evolved into a mission: to positively impact the lives of my readers by sharing stories and insights that inspire clarity, confidence, and forward movement. Writing taught me the power of words, and how the right message at the right time can change someone’s perspective.
That same passion naturally led me into motivational speaking. I wanted to do more than write. I wanted to connect directly with people, feel the energy in the room, and speak life into audiences who may need encouragement, direction, or belief in themselves. As a motivational speaker, my goal is simple: to touch lives, spark transformation, and remind people of their potential.
Alongside this, I stepped into entrepreneurship with a long-term vision. Beyond personal success, I am committed to building generational wealth that creates opportunities and stability for the future generations of my family. Today, everything I do as an author, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur is connected by purpose, impact, and legacy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. My path toward becoming a successful author, impactful motivational speaker, and thriving entrepreneur has been filled with obstacles, setbacks, and moments of uncertainty. There were times when progress felt slow, doors did not open as expected, and challenges tested my confidence and patience. However, one of the most effective tools that helped me overcome those moments was keeping my faith in God and trusting His power to move in my life.
I have learned to lean on the truth found in Philippians 4:13—that my strength doesn’t come from myself alone, but through Christ who empowers me to keep going even when things feel overwhelming. Also, I have embraced the message of 2 Corinthians 5:7, choosing to walk by faith rather than by what I see. That mindset helped me understand that setbacks are not failures. They are lessons designed to prepare me for what’s next.
Each struggle taught me resilience, humility, and trust. Instead of allowing challenges to stop me, I use them as fuel to move forward with greater clarity and purpose. By trusting God and staying committed to my vision, I continue to grow, learn, and progress one step at a time.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I wear many hats as an author, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur, but at the core of everything I do is impact. As an author, I’m known for writing that speaks to real life—words that encourage growth, resilience, and forward movement. My writing is designed to meet people where they are, whether they’re reading quietly on their own or listening to my message delivered out loud as I speak. In both forms, my goal is the same: to help individuals see their strength, purpose, and potential.
As a motivational speaker, I specialize in connecting with people on a personal level, regardless of the size of the room. I’ve had the privilege of speaking to intimate groups of just five people and to massive audiences of up to five thousand people. Both experiences mean just as much to me, because they remind me that impact isn’t measured by numbers. It is measured by lives touched. Being able to be a blessing to both small groups and large audiences has shown me the reach and responsibility of my calling.
What I’m most proud of is my ability to thrive and keep moving forward instead of remaining stagnant or allowing weakness to define me. I’ve chosen growth over comfort and purpose over fear. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity and consistency. I don’t just speak or write about transformation. I live it! Every chapter, every speech, and every business move is rooted in progress, faith, and a genuine desire to help others move forward in life.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What truly makes me happy is being able to positively touch the lives of others. Knowing that my words, presence, or encouragement can help someone move in the right direction gives me a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. Whether I’m speaking with individuals in a church who already know the Lord but need reassurance, guidance, or renewed inspiration, or connecting with people who don’t yet know Him, I’m grateful to be a vessel for hope and change.
Some of the most meaningful moments have come from speaking to prisoners. I’ve found them to be individuals who may feel forgotten or written off, yet are open to turning their lives around when someone believes in them and speaks truth and purpose into their situation. I also find great joy in inspiring young people, especially those who were once labeled as at-risk or overlooked, to see beyond their circumstances. Watching them choose productive paths, such as pursuing college or trade school, and growing into respected, confident adults is incredibly rewarding.
Ultimately, what makes me happy is seeing transformation. It’s knowing that someone’s life is better, stronger, or more focused because they were encouraged to move forward. Being part of that journey, no matter how big or small the moment, is what fuels me and keeps me motivated.
