Today we’d like to introduce you to Wesley Miller.
Hi Wesley, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a fascination with writing, but it wasn’t until around 2017 that I really began to get serious. Using words to create an imaginative story that still manages to convey real-world lessons is one of the things that brings me the most joy. First, I took a whimsical poem that I had written a few years before that, had a graphic artist illustrate it, and published my children’s picture book entitled “The Land Of Mountaindom” in early 2019 as my first published work. During this same period of time, I took a story idea that I had been fleshing out for a few years and finally began typing away on a manuscript. I completed the first book in The Machine Trilogy, “Heart Of The Machine,” and after a long editing journey, I published it later that year. I know 2020 was an eventful year for most people, and my writing journey was no exception. It took some time but I was able to get the second book, “Mind Of The Machine,” completed and published in November of 2020. Finally in December of 2022, I was able to complete the trilogy by publishing “Soul Of The Machine.” The writing process was difficult but rewarding, and my goal was to create a story that validates the struggles that we all go through and shows the importance of love, friendships, and compassion.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been anything but smooth. Traditional publishing houses are typically only interested in publishing books that they are certain will bring in revenue. Since I’m not a huge celebrity or already a giant in the publishing game, I’ve dealt with my fair share of rejection. However, thankfully there are many possibilities out there for indie authors to get their works published these days, and I chose a quality company, Southern Willow Publishing, to edit, format, design, and publish my books.
One thing that has helped me gain the public eye has been an unexpected source: TikTok (@wesmiller). I do voice acting on the side, and one of my videos, “What If Harry Potter Characters Had A Southern Accent?” got over 2.2 Million views and allowed me to gain thousands of followers. This has been beneficial when it comes to marketing my books as well.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

I am an author, voice actor, and podcast host. I have already summarized my author’s journey, so let me talk about voice acting and podcasting.
Though I’ve done freelance voice work for several years, last year I sent my voice demo reels to talent agencies and was accepted for representation by J Pervis Talent Agency out of Atlanta! You can find my character and commercial demo reels under their Voice Acting section here: www.jpervistalent.com/voiceover/
I am the creator, writer, producer, editor, marketer, and co-host of an SEC Football-themed podcast called “Pigskins & Pageantry.” I’m a Georgia fan and I’m joined by a Tennessee fan (Matt Fortson) and an Alabama fan (Jessi Russell), and we prove that the different fandoms can indeed have an in-depth discussion about SEC Football without devolving into name-calling and shouting. Don’t get me wrong, the conversations can get lively, but they’re always respectful and forward-leaning. We can be found on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Radio, iHeart Radio, and most other locations where you can get your podcasts.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are associated with family movie nights. I’ve always been mesmerized by the art of storytelling and have loved to try my hand at it in many different ways. Whether it’s as an author, voice actor, or podcast host, the opportunity to discuss relevant topics and make them fun and interesting gives me life.
